  1. In some incredible manner, I've managed to procrastinate on reading for months. I feel like a new book stack is maybe what would kindle the flame. I've still not finished This is marketing by Seth Godin which I started almost a year ago. And here it sits in my line of sight, waiting to be read. Been getting back into my online business again after a year's break, so it would be fitting to actually start the book right now.

I'm happy I've gotten the spark back for my online business, It's a fun little game. But definitely not aligned with my deepest purpose, yet I enjoy it on the egoic level, and fortunately, I'm aware of that.

I've also been getting more interested in long-range shooting which has always been a passion, but it comes and goes. I really want to buy a new centerfire rifle soon, 17. hmr likely and a new shotgun like the Benelli Vinci Supersport Carbon. It's a really fun hobby, to go out in nature and walk to go shoot either clay pigeons or steel targets at 400-1000 yards. Also want to get into bows at some point, it's more primal and...quiet, lol. :P

@fridjonk Have you been there yourself?

I've taken a peek into that world, a little glimpse just to see but got away quickly, however my friend went fully in and it got very ugly for a couple of months. Also gave him a lot of health issues and trauma. Even though he's aware of non-duality and studies this work, it still messed him up.

If he lives by the same standards as yogis which Gary simplifies by saying "do what you love and makes you happy and do it with awareness and love" has almost exactly the same meaning as Osho, j krishnamurti and sadhguru describes how to live in the "best" way possible, don't you agree?

Of course, he has some good insights, yet comparing him to a yogi because he says "do what you love" is absurd. There's no reason to compare him to a yogi when he's just Garry, he is himself and that's enough. Yet he doesn't see that, as a yogi would. You're already complete and you don't have to do anything. He would laugh in your face if you told him this. ;)

Gary is just trying to communicate the same thing but in his own words, even if you don't understand what he really tries to communicate, or am I wrong.

He's trying to express love through his world view yes. But his worldview is filled with fear and delusion. If you ask him what love is, he'll likely give you some scientific story about chemical reactions, or a religious belief system about what it is. But love is still love and he feels it at his own level.

@Epikur Enlightened people ain't perfect...especially in India where survival is tough.

  4. Stay away. There can be a point of no return when it gets so dark. It becomes so very REAL that you'll wish you never explored the dark side. Unless you're talking about some basic fear to deal with, then definitely go explore that. But the rabbit holes can become way more serious than you could ever imagine. Like pure hell level, the question is are you conscious enough to realize that it's all love? If so, go for it. ;)

I know this post is late and I don't really know about spiral dynamics but Gary Vaynerchuk talks and lives by the same rules as yogis/gurus does.

He is perhaps enlightened, at least experiencially and to some degree intellectually as well. That is why he talks about awareness so much, because in living without fear you need awareness to make good decisions.

He couldn't be further from a yogi/guru. He has a hard time not talking for more than 2 seconds and keeps interrupting people to the point where people complain about it in the comments. Peak stage orange really, and nowhere near enlightened.

But that's not to say you can't learn from his hustle mentality.

Ver fishy the Ed guy. Scammers love consiousness and spirituality. Best ROI. Btw he is peak steoroids.

Yeah, I'm not talking of his mentoring program. But from watching his podcasts from time to time, you can easily tell he has a good heart and good intentions. I've gotten some great tips from his podcast.

And I've never heard of scammers loving consciousness and spirituality. You can spot a fake spiritual person from a mile away. It's also a 100 times smaller market than something like Vaynerchuk targets. Ed could be way bigger if he targeted stage orange.

  7. @soos_mite_ah Next time you encounter this resistance, just let it go. It's one of the best methods of getting over something, just letting go. And you should feel some weight of your shoulders in that moment.

Your problems seem to stem from overthinking and overanalyzing this all too much. You can't really choose where you'll land specifically in financial terms. As soon as you actually start making good money, it's way harder to turn down more money than you think. And also that would solve your fear of saving for emergencies since that can only cost so much.

Yet I'm not saying that more money will solve your problem. This is deeply rooted in fear which you need to identify.

  8. Try the memory palace technique, "The method of Loci".

I once memorized 200 pi numbers in 5 days using it. Felt like it really boosted my overall memory capacity by visualizing.

Joshua Foer has a book called "Moonwalking with Einstein" which was pretty good and it covers the basics of memorization.

I'm not really looking to be wealthy, just financially secure about my future.

I just want to have enough money to where I don't feel like I have to think or worry about it and so that I can have some agency in mind.

So you are looking to get wealthy. ;)

Sounds like you've attached some negative connotations with the word wealthy. Being wealthy doesn't mean you have to buy fancy cars and houses. You can be a minimalist wealthy person, like Alex Becker for example.

You won't really get where you want to be financially without studying business and marketing. And by business, I don't mean stock market or anything you've attached to that word. It just means you want to be able to sustain a living on your own, being your own boss in whatever you love most doing.

  10. I'd be careful with ideas your parents may have implanted in your mind around money. Since they're only upper-middle class, that's as far as their knowledge reaches in that regard. You'll never make any money in your 20's or 30's with a savings mindset, only to be semi financially free at the age of 60.

Expand your financial mind by studying some wealthy people and how they think. But be careful with what info you take from them since most are at orange, it's a fine balancing act and very important to learn from partially false perspectives as Leo's latest blog video points out.

There are no documented cases of people jumping out of windows on psychedelics according to Hamilton Morris.

There was a case in my country a few years back, where a guy went to a horror movie on LSD and ended up running out of the theater and jumping off the 2nd floor in the mall. Ah, the stupidity. ?

If you have a healthy psyche and not a traumatized past, you'll be fine, especially if it ain't a stupidly high dose.
