  1. Disclipline etc. - Live on the edge of getting evicted, then youll see the importance of discipline. You need to get in your bones that you are the only one who you can truly rely on when the going gets tough. Family values - I dont think this is necessary, I love my family but I understand some peoples families were really shitty, its very arbitrary, you cant force yourself to love your family.
  2. I made a question on a Socialist sub-Reddit asking about their opinion on political pluralism which means openness to different political parties and ideas in their future Socialist society. The response that got upvoted the most was from a guy who said a One-Party state was the best way to go and that "pluralism" was liberal capitalist propaganda... And my original question got downvoted to hell. I dont know why it shocked me, I had always flirted with socialism a bit but the ideological bent just really showed itself when I posted that. I am definitely still a Social Democrat though. Just posting this to tell yall to be careful to fall into extreme ideology. Dont get stuck in a bottleneck, take ideas from different perspectices but dont get fooled!
  3. Pros •No bankruptcy of patients •No death of patients who cant afford care •No price gouging of medicines or healthcare •Less corruption •No lack of incentive from corporations leading to lower quality hospitals The biggest pro is compassion for your fellow humanbeing instead of being greedy for some extra money in your pocket. Wouldnt you be happy knowing 12-year Sadie doesnt have to die from cancer because the system helps her instead of treating her as just a customer? What if she was your daughter?
  4. The problem is that the party can decide and define for themselves what they think is "anti-worker" and that can lead to alot of devilry. How do you stop that from happening? Eventually any criticism could be seen as "anti-worker" or "capitalist propaganda". "What this means is that the Khmer Rouge cadres would often target someone who they considered to be an ‘enemy’ based on very little, it could be a small infraction, a suspect biography, being accused of wrongdoing, associated with another suspect individual… anything that led to a perception that someone was ‘anti-revolutionary’. One thing that someone may have looked for would be a stereotype such as wearing glasses, or sometimes (as seen in the film the Killing Fields) checking someone’s hands to see if they were well worn or soft. This would supposedly indicate whether they were suitable to the manual labour of the regime or whether they had an educated (which was the same as being an elite) background. Remember this is a peasant revolution, and to the peasants class in Cambodia there was little difference between being ‘educated’ or being ‘rich’, both of these classes looked down upon you – but not in the new revolutionary society."
  5. I wish there was something better, but at this moment it is the best we got, atleast for developed countries.
  6. Im not clinging to my Social Democrat leaning. Its just what I prefer. If anyone asks your political stance you have to answer something, right?

  10. Yeah there are degrees to Socialism, youre right, some of them are more conscious than others, then you have tankies who are just batshit lmao. Yeah to me its blatantly obvious that if you repress half the political spectrum thats gonna cause a major backlash and wont be a pleasant society to live in.
  11. I deleted the exact question but it was something like "How will you deal with political pluralism in your future socialist society?" Dont know why I deleted the thread but here we are. Haha... yeah I should have known, I just wanted some clarification because I have been stuck between SocDem and Soc for a long time leaning heavily toward SocDem. Guess I got some real heavy clarification now.
  12. There were some people that were open to it but they got downvoted too.
  13. This is so interesting, Im the complete opposite, I only eat to survive. Funny how people can have such different reactions to food.
  14. Yeah, temperament plays a part definitely. He doesnt need Pua so I can see why he looks down it, it can look very silly from the outside.

  16. Interesting! I can see what I have lacked, I grew up in family of all brothers, hung out with friends that were always dudes all throughout growing up and was always socially akward! I always wondered what it would be like to have a sister...
