  1. Question. What are you going to do with the rest of the day? Are you allowed to do creative activities (making music, arts and crafts)? I did do it two months ago for four days myself, really insightfull, but I didn't integrate why I was addicted to tv and youtube. So I fell back... I'm planning to do one, next month, and this time I am really going to focus on the root causes of these additions. Wishing you all the best!! ?
  2. Quick fix solution (works for just a day or two and then repeat); Long term solution; Pain or tension in stomach / belly is related to emotional issues. Find the core of your issue, do innerwork / shadowwork, to solve your problem on the long term.
  3. I am a Montessori teacher in Europe. I have worked in the public schoolsystem and then I tranfered to a public Montessori school. Althought I really think it's a better way of scholing kids, I also see the downsides. A school is a school. And it needs to compete with others schools in the region and comply to government rules and regulations. This causes some conflict with the Montessori way of teaching, like mandantory (pre)schooltests and the rules that we need to fill up the classes till 34 kids (this is a lot!). So I have limited time to invest into the individual kids. I regonize what @Dovahkiin said about self directed learning. Our school has rules that kids needs to participate in mandantory skills and need to change subjects frequently (although I think this varies from school to school). Transsition is not to hard. We have also Montessori highschools. Most kids adapt pretty easy because they have learned to take responsibility for their own learning process and will continue to do this when they transitioning. I am aware that there is a differents between the public school system (we don't have private schools in my country) in Europe and private and public schools in the USA. So please do your research when applying for a school.
  4. @Shakazulu Words are not the objects they describe (the menu = representation for words / language). The miracle of language is an abstraction, a construct, that tends to get mistaken for reality itself (the meal). The meaning of an event / experience depends entirely on you and how you decide to think about or label it. Our internal representations are completely subjective, which means our experience itself is subjective.

  6. You can't help others, if they don't want help. They really need it to do it for themselves. Your help should only be encouraging or reflecting on his process, do NOT get involved. Find out where he is on the grief circle or this chart below and then give help accordingly to his stage. So if he feels depressed about some youth trauma, don't give advice that he needs to drop it, go out more and do more pick-up. Acknowledge and let him work through his feelings by doing innerwork, like 'the Work' by Byron Katie, shadowwork like 'the Completion Process' by Teal Swan. Pick one thing and work it all the way through. Don't expect him to become the next month happiest person alive, have a girlfriend and be anxiety free. Let hi work on his most pressing issue and then move on to the next. I recomment the early (read 3 years ago), videos of Leo (emotions, angry, depression). Emotion videos of Teal Swan, the Work videos of Byron Katie (free worksheet on her website, very usefull), 5-minute rule by Mel Robbins for instant anxiety release or the Sedona Method (<-- last one maybe wait untill he is ready to let go of some stuff). Again, do not get involved to much. This will backfire. You will create for a him a new defense mechanism (the guy who will be helped when he f*cked up life). It will be very hard fot him to get rid of this defense mechanism once he has learned this and then he will constantly reflect this upon others including you. So only acknowledgement and reflection will work.
  7. Check out Gabor Maté; became interested in the traditional Amazonian plant medicine ayahuasca and its potential for treating addictions. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabor_Maté_(physician)
  8. @SoonHei about your second question; Watch Shinzen Young; https://youtu.be/x8aN9O73lgg https://youtu.be/0PQonSiGkVE https://youtu.be/Ozca_5ifwQ0
  9. @GabrielWallace Seem like you have a lot of things going for you right now; your move, girlfriend in a different country, new business. Is this the right time to also deal with 'complex' family issues and 'battle / confront' your dad? (you can't be juggling all, pick you battles) About your dad; it feels to me that you want to express how you feel towards him, yet I think you haven't made peace with yourself about all this, like this comment; Try 'the Work' by Byron Katie to work on these feelings, free worksheet; http://thework.com/sites/thework/downloads/worksheets/JudgeYourNeighbor_Worksheet.pdf Allthough it is not easy to confront your dad, it requires a lot of more energy and time to work through all your feelings about him. Yet in my opinion the better option, because then you become a much more stronger and mature person. If you take time and take this 'innerwork' to the next level, you even can reconcile with your past and don't be bothered at all by his behavior. Best of luck with your journey! ?
  10. What happens when you put four not very 'self-actualized' people (yes, I know a judgement, please judge for yourself) in solitude?
  11. Remember; you can make your own labels if it's enough or not. Don't let labels limit your creativity. Check this; https://mashable.com/2014/07/01/rewriting-storytelling/?europe=true Go and tell your story! ??
  12. @How to be wise ??? why? That's a bold judgement. There comes a point, when have been reading, watching and participating in so much 'self help' stuff, that you realise there is only life, only now, only nothingness or everthingness. This is it. (<~ read; hours and hours of daily of meditation to realise this) That doesn't mean there's no room for inspiration or life purpose, quite the contrary (it's a strange loop ???), I experience lots of room for creativity, work and inspiration from 'self help' stuff like Byron Katie ?, Leo's videos or any other courses. But another book or course doesn't make a differents in my life anymore. It's like a patch of the elephant and not the whole animal. But I am still curious what's your opinion on which part of the elephant Sadhguru vs Leo's booklist is more valueble and why? I hope you find your life purpose soon, best of luck! ?
  13. @How to be wise Isn't there a great differents between a booklist and a course? I was just curious about your opinion. I don't have a goal (anymore). I don't do booklists or courses. Just hopping along and life will give me everthing I need ???
  14. @NoSelfSelf Great question, I don't know... It's my perspective on life, but I'm only one of 8 billon people on this earth. People, like me, don't have the answers, they are deep within your own being. Follow your heart, find your bliss! Wishing you all the best my friend with your journey! ?
  15. @How to be wise Why? Can you elaborate on that?
  16. You're here.. in an ever changing landscape of people, culture and nature. Non of the situations that you have experienced will be copied in the future in the exact same way.
  17. Read, the defining decade, why your twenties matter by Mag Jay. Really eye-opening for practical life / work skills. Don't relay on the book for inner work, only life / work skills. Remember, Leo videos didn't have instant succes, he build momentum. He makes videos for almost five years (and I don't count the years he has invested in himself before he started with actualize.org / youtube). Even if your don't know which way you want to go, just start (and don't stop). Good luck on your journey! ?
  18. @nour-cha93 ; meditate, meditate and meditate (watch leo's videos on the how to meditate) If you just get started watch Leo's older content for practical use. Later on move to the more 'consciousness work' topics Do shadow / innerchild work; - study 'the Work' by Byron Katie (free worksheet available on het website), watch youtube videos for process. - google Sedona Method and watch youtube videos on how to use method - other methods like Teal Swan's completion process is also usefull (watch youtube video completion process how it's done) Audiobooks; - listen to Freedom from the Known by Kristnamurti on youtube - listen to any version of Tao te Ching (I prefer Stephen Mitchell version) on youtube - search for other 'free' audiobooks on youtube And the best advice I can give; listen to your heart! Good luck with your journey ?
  19. @B_Naz @YaNanNallari ; thank you both! It really gave me new input to think about! ?☺️
  20. I've got a new job offer and I accepted it (it's a step up from my current job, in my heart it feels like the right way). Normally I am (was?) a very bubble, extravert person which shares this kind news with everyone, even those who don't want to hear it. But now I don't. I even hasitate to tell my family (I can't react like it's a big achievement or that I am proud). It feels strange. I don't feel this is an achievement or a step up (there's no ladder to climb, only a dot which you move on a infinite white paper). I feel blend. And something in me wants me to be very enthusiastic, but it seems impossible. Is this normal while self-actualizing? Is it possible that your character changes (from extravert to introvert)? Any tips?
  21. @SFRL unfortunately I can't suggest anything, in Europe there is a different system than in the USA.
  22. All hail king Julien! Watch the first few minutes of this episode. Money doesn't bring happiness when there's no value. But can become a value when culture accepts it. Alan Watts tells in the first few minutes a great story about money.
