  1. Essentialism by Greg McKneown This book focus how you can contribute, and create space to find your own answers. “He knew that making his highest point of contribution on a task required that he create the space for unencumbered thought.”
  2. Vadim Zeland is a contemporary Russian mystic and writer. I found his book Reality Transurfing really helpfull. "Thoughts are like paintings in a museum. You can't like them all. Just ignore the ones you don't like". His free audiobook Reality Transurfing is availible on his YouTube channel, enjoy!
  3. @Hafiz To open your heart-chakra; https://www.youtube.com/user/ChannelHigherSelf
  4. @Larrade What kind of orders? Maybe resisting isn't the best option right now? Focus on your thoughts, pick the most persisting one and find out your core believe. What is it saying? Why does this thought want your attention so badly? Try solving it with 'the Work' or 'Sedona Method'. Meditation is great, but sometimes fixing some old believes / thoughts helps calming the mind. Best of luck ?
  5. Enlightenment is like cotton candy washed by a raccoon;
  6. Add this one to your watch list (part 1 and 2); Although I think evil (or bad) isn't the right word, it's inevitable.
  7. Check out this forumpage, same question;
  8. 'The best things in life aren't things.' Matt Kahn newest video embraces minimalism: Embracing minimalism has changed my life. No more projects lying around, no more 'some day', just a focus on the simple things. Less is more! Best things I heard about stuff; - look at shops as your storage houses. Just get out of storage what you need. The rest is stored neatly away in shops. - every item has a voice; make choices with voices you want to hear daily. - items that can be replaced under $20 and 20 minutes can be tossed (I only replaced one item from the many, many items I have donated in three years time)
  9. I googled and found free half year subscribing code. Headspace is a great (beginners) guided meditation app.
  10. @Rinne Could you explain a bit more what your exactly tracking? Free time to do what?
  11. @Aarron I have had some anxiety disorders to battle and some phobias are still hard for me to deal with, so I can relate. Meditation is a great start and must (there are also some beginner guided meditation apps; like Headspace). But if you have been anxious for a long period, then it becomes harder to fix anxiety with only meditation, from my experience I would recommend next to meditation; Quick Fix solution for moments fear / anxiety attacks, Mel Robbins; Long term fixes; Search for root causes and believes, ask these two questions on a believe you have until you hit the root belief (root beliefs are something like being unloved, rejected) - Why would that be a bad thing? - What would it mean if that were true? Letting go of unwanted believes, Sedona Method (I like the fifth way) Try the Work (very powerfull, one of my favorite methods), Byron Katie Free worksheet on her website; http://thework.com/sites/thework/downloads/worksheets/JudgeYourNeighbor_Worksheet.pdf Heal your inner child (very important for a long time solution) by doing innerchild work, my favorite The Completion Process, Teal Swan. Google innerchild, there a lots of other methods. Book to read; Fear by Osho There are lots of methods to try, find something you resonate with and stick with it (as @Baz mentioned, be very serious and prepared for some very hard work). Journaling helps to log your process. Healing childhood wounds takes time, and lots of baby steps. Focus on one thing, heal it and then go to the next wound. Start with either something simple to resolve of something what is really holding you back right now. When it comes to a plan, there isn't a perfect fit for all. Listen to your heart. If you have difficulty connecting to your heart, try youtube channel; Channel Higher Self from Lincoln Gregar. Good luck with your journey ?
  12. Avoiding conflict mostly comes from learned behavior in childhood. Was it accepted that you where angry as a child? Did you experience a lot of conflict or did the whole family avoid it? What are your believes about conflict? If you say no to others, what is your underlying root belief; unloved, not accepted, any other believes? Dig deep, if you feel you somehow repressed your own anger try this releasing exersize; Then the next question; what are you gaining by this behavior? We only behavior a certain way if we gain of win something, even if it's destructive in the long run. Therapy takes time, it's not a quick fix solution. Changing believes and looking in to root causes of your believes takes also time. Like @d0ornokey said, take baby steps to change your behavior or believes. Best of luck with your journey ?
  13. Hedonic Adaptation; is the observed tendency of humans to quickly return to a relatively stable level of happiness despite major positive or negative events or life changes. According to this theory, as a person makes more money, expectations and desires rise in tandem, which results in no permanent gain in happiness. (Wikipedia)
  14. Just start with something you really feels holding you back right now. If it's a willpower thing, just challenge that belief. Check out this topic for all the suggestions and how to; Most important, just start ?
  15. Start with the biggest struggle right now, don't worry about the rest. Resolve one and the do the next one. Lots of methods work, some of my favorites. Teal Swan, The Completion Process; The Sedona Method fifth way; Byron Katie, The Work; Free worksheet; http://thework.com/sites/thework/downloads/worksheets/JudgeYourNeighbor_Worksheet.pdf Root cause of a belief; question your belief untill you can't go further; - Why would that be a bad thing? - What would it mean if that were true? And check @Martin123 guide; Good luck ?
  16. Waking life (2001) Also check this IMDB movie-list; https://m.imdb.com/list/ls055295356/
  17. @denydritz really usefull! Thanks ?
  18. What is the differents between Sotapanna (stream-enterer) and Perceiving the Bull (Ten Ox-herding pictures)? Is the Sutta Pitaka the only text which describes rebirth(s) with the four stages? Is there also a description in the Zen tradition about rebirth(s)?
  19. @Moreira I'm so sorry to hear that you feel this way. I can relate. I developed a PTSD on a vacation to India, yes a vacation! PTSD is a serious health issue, please search help from a therapist / psychologist. The sooner you get therapy, the better. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the best ways we currently can deal with this kind of trauma. Hope you heal soon from your trauma!
  20. I like the Stephen Mitchell version. His version is easy to read and a has a very modern translation feel to it.
  21. @Ingit If you resist your thoughts, they will persist ('what you resist, persists'). If you get rid of thoughts, they are rejected from you (the Self), and will appear in the world as events or reoccuring thoughts (like you describe as); @Tistepiste is right, acknowledge your thoughts, let them be. And I said; Look into your thoughts, why would they appear (always something triggert or believe from your past, because thoughts can never be new), what is behind them. For innerchild work, I like 'the Completion Process' by Teal Swan. For innerwork (core believe of thoughts) I like 'the Work by Byron Katie. Good luck with your journey! Keep on meditating ?
  22. Maybe do some inner / shadowwork instead of getting rid of them, remember;
  23. In what way? What are you thinking about? About what are you getting anxious and stressed? @Aakash Vijayan I think you need to be more specific if you want advice / help.
  24. I once heard this explanation, why people ask. 'If people know you are okay, they don't have to worry about you.' Think about it, if you know someone who is not doing well, you feel obliged to ask how they are. If they are okay, you have a worry less. So people tend to ask this from a self-centered (ego) perspective. To make themselves feel okay (because they have asked). They are usually not interested im the answer you gave (unless if it's a negative one). Also you statement is a good one to apply to 'the Work' by Byron Katie, free worksheet; http://thework.com/sites/thework/downloads/worksheets/JudgeYourNeighbor_Worksheet.pdf
