I think lots of people have been fooled by alt-media as it was a new thing. But now the excesses of alt-media are becoming well-known, so people will be less fooled by it in the future. In the end, having more voices is a good thing, things just need to settle down. This is all part of expanding democracy. Don't demonize alt-media, don't demonize mainstream media. There is good and bad to be found in both. They supplement each other.

Please cut the BS. The simple fact is that people who watch lots of alt-media end up less informed and more deceived about reality than otherwise. So your claims of bias are spurious. Bias is precisely what makes alt-media so dangerous. The bias found in alt-media makes CNN look like angels.

This reactionary stance won't hold water. The job of any media should be help people stay informed and make sense of the world events. People who listen to alt-media often end up having a poorer sense of events than those who listen to mainstream media. Which means alt-media is doing a worse job than mainstream media. Many people who hate on mainstream media don't watch it at all, instead only consuming alt-media. Which makes them worse informed than those who only watch mainstream media. This whole demonization of mainstream media is really unintelligent and transparently self-serving for alt-media.

I think most people understand that absolute free speech is a dumb idea, and they don't expect it of their social platforms. Hardcore libertarians are a minority, which is why they never win any elections. It's an ideology which fails both in theory and in practice. Don't forget that the loudest voices on social media are often the most ignorant and do not represent the majority.

All media has limited time and screen real-estate. They can only cover so much. Alt-media omits more stuff than mainstream media. You are falling into the trap of double-standards. US media doesn't cover European and world events much because most Americans tune out and don't care about it. 1) Most mainstream news does not censor anyone. Who does CNN censor? 2) If you're talking about giant social media platforms, they have a duty and responsibility to moderate hate speech, abuse, and exploitation of their platforms. As do all smaller alt-platforms. They are just smaller. If you run a website, you have a duty and responsibility to block people from using your website for illegal and dangerous things. No matter how small your website is. You can't just sit back and allow people to use your website to plan terrorist attacks, for example.

No mainstream media sources claims to be absolute truth. This is a silly smear against them. Truth has nothing to do with mainstream or alternative sources. No, this is just your twisted projection. The opposite is true.

This is a seriously erroneous take. Alt media absolutely is a source of information and they definitely define "the truth". The only difference between mainstream media and alt-media is size, wealth, and power. Such that if you let the alt-media have the size, wealth, and power of mainstream media they would behave equally bad or worse.

Look, Patrick is obviously not some sage. But be offers some good, practical, stage Orange success advice. I share his videos because many of you guys are missing basic Orange self development and getting lost in spiritual mental masturbation. Pat is a good antidote to that. You shouldn't preach things to others that you have no direct experience with. However, you can explain some spiritual theory to someone, but then say, "I'm still working to validate this in my experience." The reality is that 99% of science people talk about is never validated by them. At least you are making an effort to validate spiritual truths. The journey to Truth must begin with theory. This is not a mistake. Just don't stop at theory.

This mission statement requires heavy moderation. Libertarianism does NOT maximize effective freedom. It simply allows a few people to monopolize the whole field and enslave everyone else. The reason to moderate is precisely to protect the public square from shitslingers and bad actors who ruin free speech. Allowing Nazis to plot government coups does not increase free speech.
