Leo Gura replied to okulele's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@okulele As Napoleon Hill says in his book, the reason most men do not become successful until their 40's, is simply because they misdirect their sexual energy, wasting it rather than applying it to creative pursuits and business. It's only in their 40's, once the sex drive dies down a bit, or they learn to channel it, that they start to get big success. Might be some truth to that. -

@Barna I prefer to rudely awaken them with balls has hairy as Sadhguru's face. You don't want to be too predictable. -

Leo Gura replied to Monkey-man's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Monkey-man The Absolute is the why. You'll understand when you directly experience it. All questions are answered to a level of satisfaction beyond imagination. You have infinite understanding. But it cannot be verbalized. You see why the whole thing is the way it is and couldn't be otherwise. God and world are not anything but you. God = world = you. -
@Uncover Our culture these days is very toxic, materialistic, and dysfunctional. Video games contribute a lot to that. They ruin your ability to be do consciousness work quite badly. When your mind is addicted to mental stimulation, like video games, how can you sit and contemplate life? How can you meditate? How can you do yoga? How can you self-reflect? It will be too boring. Your mind will be craving easy entertainment like crack. I would suggest you apply mindfulness to your video game habit and notice how ultimately unfulfilling it is. The pleasure is hollow. There's no real satisfaction to be had there. Even the very best video game gets boring and lame after a week or two. And then what are you left with? Boredom and suffering. Start to notice this larger meta-pattern. That will help you to ween yourself off games. You are 22 years old. It's time to grow up. You should be focused 100% on building your life, your career, your skillset, your relationships, and developing your consciousness. The time for games is over. Life IS the ultimate game! Master IT. The joys of mastering life are beyond anything any video game can offer you. But it's a mature kind of joy. Not the sugary joy of video games. Try starting a daily meditation practice. Notice how difficult it will be for you. As far as girls go, you need to expose yourself to massive experience with girls to fix that problem. Look into pickup, but be careful not to buy too much into the dogma. The key for you is to be going out every weekend and talking to lots of girls. That will auto-correct many issues as far as dating goes. Stop looking for 1 girl and start learning how to attract all girls in general.

@erik8lrl Boredom is a feature of the unawoken mind. To the awoken mind, things are rarely boring. Every moment is mysterious and miraculous.

@erik8lrl There is no point to anything. But don't underestimate the beauty of enlightenment. What you really desire is liberation and consciousness, you just don't realize this yet because you've only dipped your toe in the rabbit hole. Go deeper. And have faith in Truth. It will be worth it.

There is no why. You can choose to follow whatever values you want. Be careful what you choose. You just might get it.

@Star Net A) Careful with projecting onto others. Some people here are applying a lot. You just don't see it. The most serious people here don't post often. B) Of course, this is a discussion forum. It's not designed for applying, it's designed for discussion. Applying is something you do on your own, outside the forum. C) This problem is not particular this forum, or forums at large. Application is a problem for everyone, everywhere. Because execution is the hardest part of any project.

Leo Gura replied to Alien's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Alien You answered your own question. If enlightenment is raw reality, and reality is infinite, well... there you have it. You can keep exploring it forever. -
@erik8lrl Welcome to true spirituality You've only seen 1% of the rabbit hole.

Leo Gura replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@egoless The mind is a creativity engine. It can tap into infinite creativity to shape reality in amazing ways. The mind is not merely to be transcended. It must be purified, trained, fed, and harnessed to do great work. Then you have the best of both worlds. You have a supercomputer between your ears yet what do you use it for? Watching stupid cat videos and criticizing others? Rather a waste, no? -

I don't get why you guys tie yourselves in knots over this seeker issue. OF COURSE the point of all seeking is the end of seeking! It's like you got in a car to go to New York and then once you got there you make a big fuss: "What??? That's it??? No more driving??? But why did I drive then???" You drove to get to where you got. P.S. But also, there is more driving to do! Don't think you've reached the end. You have not -

LoA is very powerful stuff. Used it to build Actualized.org through sheer programming of my vision into my mind, despite all by beliefs that it could not be done and that I suck. The problem is, most people are never taught how to apply LoA. It's not just about imagining $100000000 checks. -
@Amadeusz The key is developing a compelling positive, higher consciousness vision for your life, and drilling that into your head. The vision must come from your heart. That's what the LP course is about.

@7thLetter Of course there is no absolute best way to live. But characterizing self-actualization as closedmindedness towards negativity is like characterizing being a man as closedmindedness towards having a vagina. Why you gotta frame it in such a silly way? And nonduality transcends positive/negative anyways.

@TylerW Because it is absued. People with bad intentions will use it to hijack the community for themselves. Communities involve politics, egos, and power struggles. People will use these private groups for money, sex, power, status, starting cults, spreading rumors, in-fighting, scheming, etc. This is a very well-known phenomena. It happens like clockwork, and it's tried to happen several times before on this forum. The solution is to uproot it immediately. Yes, that might seem harsh, but the alternative is worse. An unmoderated community devolves into chaos very quickly. Finding the right balance between moderation and freedom is the key. Sometimes that means stepping on a few peoples toes or restricting some freedoms.

It's not weird at all. In practice, even the most enlightened people must use the mind for practical matters and to make decisions and evaluations, which are based on imperfect information, so they can always be wrong. There is a lot more to knowledge and life than strictly enlightenment. The mind is filled with thousands of beliefs, even for an enlightened master. He couldn't navigate everyday life otherwise. Just to flip on a light switch, you must hold the belief that it will work. And if it fails to work, you'll be in for a bit of a rude awakening. Ralston also never claims complete enlightenment. He says it has infinite depth. Which is a very smart position to take. -
Leo Gura replied to How to be wise's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
He refuses to accept that 5-MeO-DMT gives an experience of the Absolute. He also claims that yogis are not enlightened. And that kundalini rising cannot lead to enlightenment. He is simply wrong on those points (according to me of course; you will have to discover who is right for yourself). -
Leo Gura replied to How to be wise's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@How to be wise What truly doesn't add up is people acting 100% perfectly, or minds thinking 100% accurately. Point me out one such person. I have witnessed the most enlightened of masters talking factual falsehoods. Precisely as expected! -
Leo Gura replied to Charlotte's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Charlotte Personally, I've found psychedelics to be very effective for dealing with the fear-of-death obstacle. After a couple of dozen deep ego-deaths on psychedelics, you stop worrying about it and the fear of it drops away. -
