I've been under full anesthesia when I was a teenager. But it felt no different than deep sleep. Just a blank, and then I woke up in a foul mood. I wonder why some people remain conscious???

@Sukhpaal Yes, of course that's a good idea to leave a toxic area. You should be traveling around more and living in different cities anyways. Don't stay in any one city for too long. You start to stagnate. Go to new places, meet new people, learn to live diversely.

@Sukhpaal It can, but not unless you're deliberately practicing spirituality hardcore already. Moving to nature and thinking that that will make you spiritual would be a big trap. It doesn't work like that. Your mind will find ways to trick you into being unspiritual no matter where you go or who you hang out with.

Huh? That doesn't make sense to me. For me, in deep sleep, there is nothingness present. Zero.

Conscious enough to see that passion doesn't conflict with enlightenment. It all depends on how high quality your original passion was. If your passion was selfless from the get-go, that will survive the purification process and even get stronger. If your passion was eating donuts and chasing girls, that probably won't.

Very interesting. What drug did he administer? How was your unconsciousness different than deep sleep? Yes, you're right about the infinitely complex part. Reality is an Absolute infinity. Yes, 5-MeO is similar, except I never lost all consciousness on it. Perceptions are still present for me. You just realize they are all infinite in a very strange-loopy sort of way.

Actually, it's not a big IF. You don't have to worry too much about over-doing love. Just make sure it's true unconditional love, not egoic clinging for thing. True unconditional love is selfless and it's about giving, not taking or having or needing. If you're an addict, try some psychedelics. They are the fastest cure I know. You need to experience what unconditional love is, and they will show you that. Just be ware, if you have a lot of inner demons (which of course you do if you're a serious addict), they will be faced during your trips, and that will be challenging. But that's real growth. LSD is a good substance. Start very low. And take full responsibility for yourself. This is not medical advice.

Firstly, playing a video game vs designing a bridge are two VERY different things. Secondly, yes, even productive conceptualization like dreaming up bridges will hold you back from accessing the deepest levels of consciousness, which require no-mind. That said, you can still conceptualize even with no-mind. You just have to get good at separating the two into different phases. You want to get to a point where you can sit still with no-mind for 2 hours, then get up, cook breakfast, and design a bridge. Once you've built up your consciousness, you can even partake in a video game once in a while. But the point is, when you're deeply stuck and addicted, you gotta break the crutch. The problem isn't so much playing a video game. The problem is playing video games for 1000 hours per year for 20 years.

@MisterMan No, it is not a distraction, if you apply it properly. Practicing unconditional love is a great way to open the heart chakra and gradually cleanse yourself of the stranglehold of ego. I wouldn't count on it to enlighten you (although it could), but it's a great secondary practice. So your enlightenment also involves the heart, not just the head. Try loving especially those you hate. And see how much that grows you. If infinite love isn't spilling out of you, your enlightenment is weak.

Hogwash! Don't go projecting your personal feelings about enlightenment onto others. If you like to get all nihilisitc about it, that's your thing. You and Jed can drink each other's tears. But that's not a requirement of truth. The deepest passion is borne from dispassion. The more conscious I become, the more passionate I become. My passion is highest at zero ego. And don't confuse divine purpose with an ego trip. There is a larger wisdom at work here. Search inside your heart and ye shall find it. An enlightenment without heart is just a waste. Like winning the lottery but not being able to spend a dime.

@okulele As Napoleon Hill says in his book, the reason most men do not become successful until their 40's, is simply because they misdirect their sexual energy, wasting it rather than applying it to creative pursuits and business. It's only in their 40's, once the sex drive dies down a bit, or they learn to channel it, that they start to get big success. Might be some truth to that.

@Monkey-man The Absolute is the why. You'll understand when you directly experience it. All questions are answered to a level of satisfaction beyond imagination. You have infinite understanding. But it cannot be verbalized. You see why the whole thing is the way it is and couldn't be otherwise. God and world are not anything but you. God = world = you.

@Uncover Our culture these days is very toxic, materialistic, and dysfunctional. Video games contribute a lot to that. They ruin your ability to be do consciousness work quite badly. When your mind is addicted to mental stimulation, like video games, how can you sit and contemplate life? How can you meditate? How can you do yoga? How can you self-reflect? It will be too boring. Your mind will be craving easy entertainment like crack. I would suggest you apply mindfulness to your video game habit and notice how ultimately unfulfilling it is. The pleasure is hollow. There's no real satisfaction to be had there. Even the very best video game gets boring and lame after a week or two. And then what are you left with? Boredom and suffering. Start to notice this larger meta-pattern. That will help you to ween yourself off games. You are 22 years old. It's time to grow up. You should be focused 100% on building your life, your career, your skillset, your relationships, and developing your consciousness. The time for games is over. Life IS the ultimate game! Master IT. The joys of mastering life are beyond anything any video game can offer you. But it's a mature kind of joy. Not the sugary joy of video games. Try starting a daily meditation practice. Notice how difficult it will be for you. As far as girls go, you need to expose yourself to massive experience with girls to fix that problem. Look into pickup, but be careful not to buy too much into the dogma. The key for you is to be going out every weekend and talking to lots of girls. That will auto-correct many issues as far as dating goes. Stop looking for 1 girl and start learning how to attract all girls in general.

@erik8lrl Boredom is a feature of the unawoken mind. To the awoken mind, things are rarely boring. Every moment is mysterious and miraculous.

@erik8lrl There is no point to anything. But don't underestimate the beauty of enlightenment. What you really desire is liberation and consciousness, you just don't realize this yet because you've only dipped your toe in the rabbit hole. Go deeper. And have faith in Truth. It will be worth it.

There is no why. You can choose to follow whatever values you want. Be careful what you choose. You just might get it.

It's not designed for applying, it's designed for discussion. Applying is something you do on your own, outside the forum. C) This problem is not particular this forum, or forums at large. Application is a problem for everyone, everywhere. Because execution is the hardest part of any project.

@Alien You answered your own question. If enlightenment is raw reality, and reality is infinite, well... there you have it. You can keep exploring it forever.
