If you work in construction; engineered stone.

The quartz in engineered stone when cut or fractured is an airborn breathing hazard that can lead to silicosis.

Engineered stone was banned in Australia in 2024 - first country to ban its use.

I know it is specific, but it is a huge deal in the construction industry.

My brother is only 30 and has the (tested) lung equivalent to that of a 93 year old man

I have quartz in my house, but it was installed years before I knew about this.

Silicosis is what you get if you inhale a lot of dust if your artistry involves manufacturing stone.

It is used frequently in residential construction (was, in Australia). Often ground, cut and sawed. Nasty shit.
