That thing that keeps luring you into thinking a next moment will come, and continuing to believe that one will, even though it never happens. That can stop appearing completely, in a sense, yes. Though it doesn’t really stop, because it was always untrue that it was appearing — that was its lie. A remarkably efficient illusion.
