Do you guys have a system for open tabs? How many tabs do you have open in your browser? ?

The only time I have more than a couple tabs open is if I'm looking at porn, or when I come to this forum I open each section and then go through them individually. So basically either for physical or mental masturbation.

Bookmark stuff that's important or that you come back to frequently, realize the stuff you can just let go or look up again later.

Cluttered desktop icons, tabs, etc are probably a symptom of a cluttered mind.

If you're researching something, open up 5 or 10 tabs, extract the information, then close them. Why would you ever need to keep tabs open for days straight? If it's about not having to enter passwords or something, just use autofill so you can sign into anything with a click.

Having 10 tabs open takes about 1 GB of RAM. People with like 30 tabs open, I don't know how their computer even functions. Plus once you open enough tabs, the words disappear and you can't even see what they are any more. Then you're wasting time looking through tabs just to see what they are.

Don't just have one long list of bookmarks either. Both that and having 50 tabs open are both very boomer things to do. Make folders and group stuff. Learn good browser hygiene.

Usually when I have enough free time and no notifications, I start by opening the general forums tabs that I visit the most all at once. Then I begin opening threads generally based on posting activity, member participation, and title. Then I start reading and see where that leads me.

Tip: The middle mouse button opens links in one click.

Foolish until proven other-wise ;)

@StarStruck

It doesn't matter, at least for me. Usually I have about 20 tabs open, but that is, because that guarantees that I will never run out of things to do. It's like to-do list and when they are looked again or aren't interesting anymore I will close them.

Who told you that "others" are real?

@Yarco my rule is to only leave 4 tabs open. More than that just clusters my mental RAM.

When open links and I find information useful I put it in my common place book.

that is how I roll.
