Adaptable Career Capital

3 posts in this topic

I still need a lot of time to narrow down my exact life purpose, but I think I've got a pretty strong feel for the direction.

Borrowing concepts from Cal Newport's So Good They Can't Ignore You  and Deep Work, I think a good starting point for me would be to simply focus on mastering a relevant skill , mathematics in my case, which would allow be to have high career capital in relevant fields.

Is this a good starting point, or are there more specific steps I could take to identify and act on my life purpose?

There are plenty of steps. But perhaps the most important one is just trying.

@username That approach can work, but you wanna be sure it's truly a relevant skill. Otherwise you might waste 4 years learning that skill, only to realize: "Oh, I'm not gonna use it." And by that point it will be too late. You're gonna have to pay the bills somehow, and so you'll likely get stuck with something MUCH less than your life purpose, out of necessity.

It's much better if you can nail down your life purpose now and save years of blind trial and error.

Although if you can't, some kind of action is better than no action at all.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.
