There are different types of Armenians. 

It would be interesting to know whether there are Armenians located in Armenia on this forum or even watching Leo's videos. I highly doubt it, although I am one.

One thing that unites them all is their pride in their Armenian, especially Christian, identity.

They are mostly very boastful people and generally cultural conformists regarding the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Anything that doesn't belong to their Christian dogma is considered a threat to them, and they are usually labeled as a cult, which is ironic and makes them disregard or disrespect legitimate techniques and practices for spirituality.

Their religion is very sacerdotal rather than experiential one, which makes spiritual experience or personal awakening not a thing to be trusted. Without the priests and the church you will never have a connection with God, whatever God means to them. And the priests, whom I highly doubt that have had an awakening, are considered the protectors of their national identity. This all makes them believe that literally God's job is to protect Armenia.

So, their national identity depends on the church's survival, and the church's survival depends on their national identity.

Overall, it is very difficult to be a freethinker living with them, even though they would like to think they are freethinkers.
