I'm Curious...

6 posts in this topic

So I think it's common knowledge that drugs will give you short term pleasure but ultimately long term suffering...I've expedience this myself. I'm curious tho, is there a drug that creates short term suffering and ultimately long term pleasure, perhaps by suppressing certain neurotransmitters in the short term causing your body to create more in the long term? I'm assuming some natural examples would be vegetables or meditation type things but I keep getting this want/craving for a pill I can take that makes me sad in the short term but happier in the long term. I also feel kind of a toxic dirtiness with this kind of wishful thinking. Thanks for your thoughts, and keep on loving

Be careful what you wish for.

That's how exercise and meditation already works. Go for a 3 mile run, you'll have a runner's high for hours. After a while running isn't short term suffering anymore.
