Why is Self/God/Truth= heaven?

8 posts in this topic

Religious and spiritual tradtions try to show us that the experience of god or truth is like experiencing heaven. Is that true? Does it "feel" like heaven? Is it an accurate metaphor? (for all the people here who experienced god)

thanks:)

Yeah it’s heaven apparently. Beyond comprehension. And even more beyond comprehension is the fact that even that experience is only apparent. It has no depth or meaning or substance or what-it-is-ness, because it’s just what it is. Everything.

@The0Self Ok thanks for your answer, but why is it called heaven? Does it "feel" like paradise?

It can, but it doesn't have to. Some states like (what could be described as) unity consciousness are unbelievably amazing, but the funny thing is, so is everything. Everything just is amazing, but that cannot be known (nor can anything). THIS is heaven, but it seems like something else if you insist on knowing it's heaven.

Yes, it's heaven/paradise. Because it's Absolute Perfection/Goodness/bliss.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Heaven is translated as spaciousness. And that's exactly what Being is.

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.

Heaven is not spaciousness. Heaven is the realization that you are immortal, Eternal, and Perfect.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Which is what spaciousness is: Consciousness itself.

You're probably not a Tolle fan, but I agree with him:

“Jesus said ‘the kingdom of heaven is within you,'” observed Mr. Tolle..

“I think if he lived nowadays, instead of ‘kingdom,’ he would have said, ‘dimension.’ And ‘heaven’ refers to a sense of vastness or spaciousness. So if we retranslate the words of Jesus into modern terms [it would be] ‘the dimension of spaciousness is within you.’

And then Jesus said — when they asked him, ‘Where is the kingdom of heaven and when is it going to come?’ — he said, ‘The kingdom of heaven does not come with signs to be perceived. You cannot say, ah, it’s over here or look, it’s over there, for I tell you the kingdom of heaven is within you.'”

How nice it is to be reminded that the proverbial “kingdom of heaven” we’ve been hearing about for at least two millennia — this “dimension of spaciousness” or what I might characterize as the understanding of our true spiritual identity — is “within you.” Within us all. Here and now.
