What Does Fulfilment Mean ?

7 posts in this topic

The hardest part of personal development is understanding that external things are not fulfilling, but why is it that everyone still chases these things. It seems as if people who have everything that they "want" are fulfilled and they dont need to take part in lifestyle minimalism, meditation etc.

Really? The people you know must be very different from the people I know.

Ah yes :)

This is what social conditioning is, we are conditioned to believe that if we just follow the herd everything will be OK...ever seen the film the Matrix?

Sometimes these people who seem to be fulfilled only seem that way because they want to believe themselves that they are fulfilled so they go out of their way to create the public illusion that they are fulfilled and maybe even force their fulfillment on you so that you wish to be as fulfilled as they are and this supports their illusion of fulfillment but deep down they aren't fulfilled :D

what ? you didn't hear about reading superficial people ? My advice is to test for your own if outside obj are fulfilling you or your interpretation about them, these can be difficult and might require high level of consciousness these is what Leo is trying to do .

It seems, yes. Go and find out for yourself and get to know these people. You will find that the majority of these "fulfilled people" haven't really felt much difference than from where they have started. It's a game of chasing your own tail or always looking over the shoulder of the present moment, and not realizing that you are stuck in this do-do-do mode (this is where mindfulness and sharpening your awareness comes in handy)

'Keeping up with the Jones' cultural syndrome comes to mind.
