Wait until you have to watch the death of a parent.  Most people don’t realize how good their life is relatively speaking.  Spend some time in a nursing home and then come tell me how bad your life is.  We take so much for granted.

I would say that trying to reduce one's emotion by trying to think of someone who's worse off is impractical and suppressive.

Indeed such an experience of losing a parent changes you in the most profound way.

@Joseph Maynor I only say what I truly believe and know from direct experience, extensive passionate reasearch, integration of hundreds of sources, and deep contemplative observation. Any other form of idea is of no significance at all.

All perspectives are partial. What I say is just nice prose and words, if one finds them useful it would be nice. If one sees my ignorance and arrogance he will learn to not be that.
