Is ego in the reptilian part of the brain?

I’m just slightly confused if ego comes from a certain part of the brain ... or more of a combination. 

Unless it’s more of a spiritual concept but it must come from somewhere.. 

I was guessing reptilian since that’s more survival linked I think

Ego is the idea that you were born.

Ego is not a brain part. Ego is a thought. The thought that you are an individual who was born and is looking around at the world, and that it is important that you not die.

If you stop thinking that you were born, you will actually die. Try it

Ego is best understood as forgetting yourself as God Awareness by getting lured into becoming embedded in Maya a.k.a Thought and Experience.  ‘Ego’ is more synonymous with ‘distraction’ than most people realize.  Distraction is the Devil that lures God to forget Himself and enter Hell a.k.a. Samsara a.k.a. Maya a.k.a. Thought and Experience.
