Got back from 10 day Vipassana, need help with anxiety

4 posts in this topic

I am also on Nofap, so this would be my first real 13 day streak of being porn free. I really do believe my anxiety and body shakes during vipassana were due to coming out of the addiction that has plagued me for so many years.

What are some suggestions for riding this energy out, besides just to keep with the daily meditations.

Also, do you guys have some insight into how to make decisions after a Vipassana retreat. I feel like I have infinite options for my life at this point and I am having trouble just sitting with the overwhelming choice of paths to take.

I am in your exact position.

How to deal with NoFap energy: study sexual transmutation...you need to pour your sexual energy into something positive like working out or helping others

How to deal with overwhelming possibilities:

Do something that you like to do...listen to music...

Pick a book that speaks to you and read it...don't think about the thousands of books that are out there...just focus on the one and take it for what it is.

Focus on one thing at a time...since you are on Nofap right now....I would just focus on meditating for 1 hour every single day...that's more than enough to focus on for the time being...once your meditation habit is in place, then you can start to focus on other things

Prioritize your life....here is a rough draft of my daily to do list

1. Meditate 1 hr

2. read 30 mins

3. workout 30 mins

easy enough?

edit: obviously you shouldn't copy my to do list if it doesn't feel right for you. I just was giving an example to show you an example of how easy it is to make simple and articulate goals.

P.S.  bad things will happen to you and you will fall off track in your life...always remember...don't quit and STAY ON THE PATH

@Hafiz

I'd try exercise and a hot sauna. Also, get some sunlight. It's not a perfect solution but it will help with the day to day.
