I was sharing it because I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it and it's just an objectively funny video, haha.

This feels like the problem with the criticism. It sounds more like making fun of this person rather than offering a constructive method of preventing Russia from annexing whatever country they feel like invading with impunity. If Putin is rewarded for this behavior, then why not do it again and again like he already did with crimea for instance?

If we make Ukraine give up, then Russia will just invade someone else, kill a bunch of people, and then have the victims blamed for not surrendering. It is called appeasing the bully. It is the same geopolitical strategy we used against Hitler during WWII.

I am glad that Zhelensky has shown the necessary backbone to resist western pressure to lower conscription age for men from 25 to 18, as well as to draft its women compulsorily in war.

But I wish he had showed similar statesmanship in being a neutral entity in the midst of two foolishly hostile blocs with the potential for nuclear war and holocaust, and instead create bridges between the russians and west for regional harmony , and get the best of both sides.

I am also hoping that Putin might stop the war as well and avoid being a foolish pawn in this geopolitical chess game waged by vampirish unscrupulous operators behind the scenes with eyes on profits alone.

To truly love something is to grant that thing freedom. It is to hold it in an open, outstretched palm of your hand without clenching over it.

Putin's whole talk of preventing NATO expansion is just larp. The dude is on some last unc-hurrah bs to try and bring back the soviet union.

Putin lamented the collapse of the soviet union from a russian perspective, as it  resulted in millions of ethnic Russians and Russian-speakers finding themselves living outside the Russian Federation.

With a relatively poor economy, ageing infrastructure, local insurgencies like Chechnya , and demoralized troops not getting their salaries for months, russia is not in any position for imperialist ambitions if any even before the war, and Putin is not a fool to ignore it.

Like other western nations, russian population is also ageing and reducing in numbers due to low fertility rates and are depending more on immigration for its manpower needs.

Many russians have settled in western countries due to religious, cultural and racial similarities and have intermarried with the peoples over there. The likes of Carl Sagan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Winona Ryder, Steven Spielberg, Michael Douglas, Harrison Ford, Peter Ustinov are of russian origin.

With the world's second largest economy, and largest army, navy and air force on earth, I would say China is in a better position for imperialist ambitions as shown by its inclinations towards taiwan and neighboring countries.

It is also because of massive Chinese support along with brics countries of asia, africa and south america, that Russia has been able to support itself during the duration of the war, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
