I Experienced a Shadow Figure That Seemed to Question Me, help explaining

I’m posting this because I recently had an experience that I can’t fully explain, and I’m hoping to hear from people who may have experienced something similar or can offer some insight.

A little while ago, I was lying down in bed, getting ready to sleep, when I suddenly felt a presence come up behind my head. The presence seemed like a shadow figure, although I didn’t physically turn around and see it.

What made the experience especially strange was that it seemed to communicate with me mentally. It would ask me questions about my life, including details about major decisions I had made and circumstances I was currently dealing with. It felt as though the presence was questioning me about my life and the choices I had made.

The interaction followed a strange pattern. The presence would ask a question, seem to recede or pull away, and then wait for me to respond. This happened several times.

During the experience, I found myself thinking that the presence might be God or the Holy Spirit. I want to clarify that I’m not a religious person, so this wasn’t an assumption based on strong religious beliefs. It was simply the thought that came to mind while it was happening.

The experience eventually ended with an object in my room moving and making a loud noise. That frightened me considerably, and I was barely able to sleep for the rest of the night.

Then, a few days ago, I had a dream that seemed to recreate the original experience. In the dream, the same type of encounter was happening again, but this time I was about to turn around and look at the figure. As I turned around I saw the figure for a split second and it resembled the commonly recognized image of Jesus.

Now I’m left wondering what to make of all this.

Was this some kind of sleep-related experience, a manifestation of my subconscious, something paranormal, or something spiritual? I genuinely don’t know. I’m open to different explanations, and I’m not trying to convince anyone that what I experienced was supernatural.

At the same time, I don’t want to automatically dismiss the possibility that the experience had spiritual significance if there’s a reason to consider it. I also don’t want to mistake something else for a divine encounter or be misled into believing something that isn’t true.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, particularly a presence that seems to ask questions about your life, followed by a dream that appears to revisit the encounter?

I’d appreciate hearing from people who have had similar experiences, as well as those who might have a psychological, scientific, or spiritual perspective on what could have happened.

I’m genuinely looking for insight, not just confirmation of what I already suspect. I want to understand this experience as honestly and clearly as I can.

Sounds like you were communicating with your sub conscious during twilight sleep between dreaming and waking.

The first time it happened I was fully conscious, laying down but still conscious. I will add that I had smoked weed right before. I don’t want to brush it off and say it was just the weed because I’ve smoked before and never had that happen.

 

the second time it happened makes sense that it was my subconscious. Possible processing the experience.

Sounds like awareness mostly detached from ego and decided to see if the character was ready to get the Good News or start journeying towards it.  Laying down and being still in the dark quiet is a great a way of doing that.  The weed don't hurt either.

If you want to get Jungian, yeah okay sure, it was your subconscious taking on an idea and form you wouldn't immediately disengage from and probed your overall psyche to see if it wanted to evolve.

I'd call it the divine spark acknowledging a potential candidate for eternal godhood but that's just me. 

Ive had similar experiences.  Ive read or listened too other peoples experiences.  What gets me is every time is when someone mentions something being moved and with enough noise to remove all doubt.  That seems to be a thing when whatever it is wants to drive the point home of yes, this is really happening.

I really like how that sounds but don’t know what that means 😅 my initial thought is I don’t want to die to get there. Kinda feel a little trauma from the experience and or confused by it

That never works. Trust me on this. Willing it to happen is futile because it involves the ego and it's wants.

Kinda.

I'm able to tell when I'm dealing with a spirit when I get goosebumps out of nowhere on my body while meditating, followed by a burst of rising sexual energy and arousal. My conciousness will also go into a strange trance state in that moment too and I will see some visions. Sometimes objects will move around a bit also. But that's if you're dealing with low grade spirits. If it's an angelic force visiting you, especially someone like yeshua, then your crown cracks open and you start crying catharticly like there's no tomorrow from all of the love that overflows you.
