That proves my point. Persian is a loose ethnic cultural identity, similar to Slavic. Slavic is not a nation-state.

If it proves something it's that Persian Identity is more fundamental than Iranian Identity.

How do you pronounce "Persian"?, in Farsi, what does it sound like?

•His Royal Titles: In his inscriptions, such as the Cyrus Cylinder, he identified himself by his dynastic lineage and specific kingdoms rather than a national state name, commonly calling himself the son of Cambyses, "great king, king of Anshan".

• Origin of "Persia": The name "Persia" is a later Greek and Western exonym (a name given from the outside) derived from Parsa.

Ethnicity is more fundamental than nation. This is universally true.

We pronounce Persian as Parsi.

It's the same as Farsi but with a P instead of F.

Farsi itself is another thing because Arabs don't have P so they called us Farsi in history and another clue that we are being robbed of our true identity is exactly this.

The second Shah of Pahlavi named all our literature books "Farsi" instead of "Parsi" which is not right it must start with P not F and this is also because he was a puppet of the British.

Persia and Persian is not an ethnicity.

It is an ancient civilization.

The most ancient civilization of all time.

This is made up by British?

Ēr (Aryan)

In a cultural and ethnic sense, ancient Persian Zoroastrians referred to themselves as Ēr (the Middle Persian word for Aryan), which signified a noble lineage and tied them directly to the identity of their homeland, Ērānšahr (the Iranian/Aryan Empire).

Ariya (𐎠𐎼𐎹): In Achaemenid royal cuneiform inscriptions (such as those of Darius the Great), native speakers referred to themselves and their linguistic/ethnic identity using Ariya (Aryan / Iranian).

Yes the Sassanids dynasty tried to impose the name Iran or Eransahr the same way the British is doing today.

They are all the same or dare I even say the continuation of one another.

The Sassanids dynasty was a corrupt class based government ruled mostly by corrupt zoroastrian preists.

What ancient empire called themselves Parsi? Cyrus was from the city of Parsas and called his empire "Anshan"

Anyway we're getting away from this post's main topic.

But also these are all intertwined threads with each other on the Global scale and the big picture of Things.

But we'll get there later.

Well maybe Cyrus in the Babylonian Cylinder referred to himself as the King of Anshan but Darius in the Inscription of Naghsh-e Rostam called himself Parsi if you want to know about another King.

He was from the city of Parsas, the whole quote includes I am Aryan

"I am Darius the great king... a Persian, son of a Persian, an Aryan, having Aryan lineage."

Ah yes but I don't trust the Aryan part being truly what he himself stated or what has been added to the inscription later by others.

Anyhow I find more peace and strength in seeing myself as a Persian instead of an Iranian.

Persia is better known in the world rather than Iran and has a better reputation as well.

India is considered to be the only country on earth which has never persecuted its jewish population.

Similarly the Persian Zoroastrians were granted refuge in India by Indian kings after they had to flee Persia due to persecution during the arab invasions. Even now you can see a large flourishing persian community in India with their zoroastrian temples intact.

The Indian jews and persians live together in harmony, which is a microcosmic model of integration that Israel and Iran can emulate at a macrocosmic level.

The Persian emperor Cyrus the Great is also mentioned in the bible and honored by the Jews as  a dignified and righteous king.

The humanistic code of Cyrus the Great is recorded on the Cyrus Cylinder, a baked-clay artifact dating back to 539 B.C.   Discovered in the ruins of Babylon in 1879, this text is widely celebrated as the world's first charter of human rights.

So the ancient Persian civilization has made a lot of contributions to the world civilization and culture.

True, thank you.

I also want to add figures like Rumi, Attar, Khayyam, Hafiz, Sa'di, Ibn Sina, Al-Khwarizmi (whose name is in Algorithm) etc...

All Persian mystics, poets, mathematicians, and philosophers.
