There is only one original thought: I have been copying since day dot

though most I suspect won't get to that level of consciousness.

We can talk about mindfucks, I like it.

I am the impossible made reality.

Synthesizing is not the same thing as copying. If you look at the sunset and then you paint a picture of a sunset then you didn't copy the sunset. You created your own creation taking from inspiration an aspect of reality.

AI creates new stuff all the time. It can also copy stuff; it's a very versatile tool.

It is actually funny. Because "copy" was never good or bad to begin with. If you copy stuff and you're happy then I think you succeded. Getting joy out of painting a sunset matching color by color in this case. The juice of life is in being creative.

I’m noticing an odd ‘think out loud’ thing being done. I don’t feel like LordFall implied or said anybody said copying was bad—his underline point about it synthesizing is just true.

Of course, this can lead to basically copying but to distill the technology down to good or bad binaries isn’t the most effective means of contemplation.

That's what it was.

That's what I meant.

Copying is perceived as bad for egos trying to survive.

Although I am not compelled to use AI at all. At least just yet. It can't provide the value I am looking for. At least proctively looking for ways to incorporate it in my life, since I can't really avoid it. Everything has AI already.

And for the feeling of being replaced, yeah that is a bit odd. Let it if it must, but I don't believe in it. Specially in the arts.

I think ideally we would want AI to be replacing the work we do NOT want to do, rather than what humans do take joy in.

The volume of AI slop produced may end up increasing the value of "organic" or "all human" creativity. As one product and it's process becomes more scarce.

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

The problem with that is there will always be someone who doesn’t want to do something and someone who develops a solution.
