Radical nonduality 2.0

15 posts in this topic

Most of the original radical nonduality speakers (Tony Parsons, Jim Newman, Tim Cliss etc) will say: there is no you, mind is illusion etc, and then they just leave it at that. This brick wall approach is helpful for some, but I can see that many people are just left frustrated. (I have literally seen some of the online meetings getting zoom bombed lol.)

Emerson has found a way to practically demonstrate that mind is illusion.

(See minute 6 to around minute 11 as an example)

Language is the veil that is lifted in seeing through the illusion of the sense of a separate me.

I like to call this radical nonduality 2.0 not because the original message has changed. It's simply an evolution in the way that it is being transmitted.

(The revolutionary thing about this, is that Emerson has found a way to make nonduality accessible for people who have literally no spiritual background.)

Boom! 💥

Pretty cool stuff, he tells a story where a cab driver asked what he did, so they started chatting about his youtube channel etc, dude 'got it' right there. He's found a way to make this accessible even to normies🙂

Now apply the same to solipsism: "characters", "me', "others", "experiences", "no experiences", is language. What do you have without language? 'This'.

The moment you start talking about other people and their experiences or lack thereof (which is what people tend to do with solipsism), you are in language. If you want to simply be grounded in just "this", no such language arises.

Over time, I feel like I've gone through like 50 different ways of trying to tell through language that solipsism is language. It has really become a hobby of creative thinking at this point. "Ah, a new day, another day of trying to say that solipsism is language in a new way".

This was one of the later ones, notice the level of desperation in creative thinking:

Think of Absolute Truth / Absolute Reality as a gun with a single bullet in it. Think of "other people's experience", "my experience right now" or any conceptual division you come up with, as slices of pizza you have to cut with a knife. You shouldn't expect to slice a pizza with one gunshot the same way you would cut it with a knife. When I see solipsists asking whether other people have or don't have experience, whether their experience "right now" is all that exists, and whether this is absolutely true, I see somebody trying to slice a pizza with a single gunshot.

Right now, all spirituality concepts just feel like stories.

The spiritual concepts are stories that are meant to lead the conceptual mind out of its self-absorbed slumber and to look outside itself, where the self itself is seen through as just a story, and where the stories that lead it there are also seen through as just stories.

Spiritual concepts are a trap drawn by the pen and for the pen of the conceptual hand that holds it, to see how the trap was drawn by its own hands, and how the hands are drawing themselves (as in Escher's Drawing Hands).

Chuck all the concept in the shredder, make sure it's oiled and ready to go full throttle :x

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

Watch minute 6 to around minute 11, of the video in the OP. That was the main intention with this thread. Emerson has somehow found a way to make this stuff accessible for normies as well.

I mean it's pretty standard guided self-inquiry.

Not so sure about that, who else have you seen working in this specific way with people ?

The way that he is sharing this (lifting the veil of language) is actually allowing normies to 'get it' as well. Thats quite revolutionary me thinks.
