What is your life purpose and why is it worth it?

I believe strongly in the idea of the life purpose but I believe even more strongly in making your life purpose as exciting as possible otherwise it'll be painful and maybe not even worth it.

For me my life purpose is to use my intellect to build creative projects for myself and others so that we can live our lives both in adventure but also with long lasting stability and fulfillment. 

I like creating communities and hosting events because life is boring and lonely on your own so might as well make it more exciting by conquering together. I've posted this video a few times but it's one of the coolest events I've hosted, a content creation mastermind I hosted in Calgary in May this year.

The house that this was hosted in is owned by an event partner of mine, Jeff from the Velvet network. He bought it for about $2M CAD a couple of years ago specifically to throw events after he got a nice exit from his business.

Having a venue to host events is very important and having his property to throw events was pretty nice especially when at the time I was living in a basement unit with no furniture and a mattress on the ground. The events there would've been a bit... limited. That's also a key lesson where collaborating with others that have similar goals as you is essential to scale your own vision quickly and efficiently. 

One of my new goals is owning a castle and using it to throw events and live out of. Some of you might know this but I aim to be polyamorous with many wives so owning a big property is pretty mandatory for me. Doing it in style and owning a literal castle seems like a grand idea. France has 40,000 of them and they are actually decently priced, especially as a Canadian, since buying a detached home in Toronto costs about the same as a mid-sized château in France so I think we got our plan set out for us. I'm gonna make it like the Playboy Mansion but even cooler. 

One of the key insights I've had with the life purpose quest is being sure to make it grand and serving humanity but also to serve your selfish goals. I often get people that share their life purpose goals with me that involve in some poetic sense "Being able to help the homeless", "Have a ranch and rescue puppies", etc and I think all of that is great but oftentimes we need to fulfill our deepest selfish desires and that is what's gonna get us out of bed daily to keep grinding on it. Not necessarily world peace. Both together is phenomenal though.

For me my life purpose will be worth it because it'll allow me to both indulge in my deepest fantasies but also build a business and community that serves others and thus scales infinitely and I can see it bearing fruits 5 years from now, 20 years from now and hopefully 100 years from now as well.

This post is partly inspired by @Olaf's post here because I agree that life is fucking hard but if you have a worthwhile goal then it makes it all worth it.

French castle sounds epic!

And I like what you say about combining those lower and higher consciousness ideals into your life purpose.

I know for me I want to achieve mastery in Cybersecurity. However, I struggle with understanding a big impact I can make with it.

Atm, I follow Cal Newport's So good they can't ignore you advice when it comes to life purpose. So I focus on achieving rare and valuable skills in something and then will later get rare and valuable opportunities, and can then pick a mission later on. And importantly it takes the view that passion is something that comes later on, rather than a pre-existing thing to identify.

Regarding why its worth it, I'd say I find a lot of fulfilment in skillsets as I get closer to mastery in them. The first 6 months to a year tends to suck, sometimes longer. But I find once i get near mid intermediate I start to enjoy skillsets for the love of the game.

Cybersec also maps on well to my favourite video game: Siege 6. That was a big reason I started actually.

Finally, I find the field cool af. I've always been drawn to doing something noble that involved the darker side of life. And this fits that well.

@LordFall You remind me of my early 20 year old self, now I might have become old and grumpy hahaha Great my post brought some inspiration. I think a castle isn´t that bad either, I wouldn´t complain about having a castle in my life.

@Ulax Thanks bro, you're invited to a party when I purchase the estate. I think it's gonna take me around 6 years so let's call it Summer 2033 will be the housewarming party. I would like a property next to the ocean but a country river might do the trick since a beachside chateau is probably 3x the price as a country one. Indoor/outdoor pools though are a must as well as a hot tub, cold plunge and spa setup so I can host wellness retreats on top of photoshoots and galas. 

I knew a dating coach with a penthouse and he would host his seminars and clients at his place so his business offset his rent. That's the road I would take to finance the property and not really be impacted too much by the constant expenses that maintaining the property will incur. 

What do you want to change about the world? Which causes move you? Cybersecurity is just a skillset and perhaps a career path, not an end goal.

What other skills do you have to combine with it to create a tech stack that will let you have massive impact in the world?

You didn't answer the question of the thread. What is your life purpose and why is it worth it to you? 

Most people tend to give up on their dreams as they get older and the friction of the world kills their spirit. Don't be like most people, they are mediocre and don't do much in life. Make your vision even grander and work daily to achieve it.

A great tip I have for that is to get into content creation. The feedback loop towards projects usually is months or years so it can get discouraging if you don't have constant Ws along the way. With content you can both help build a marketing engine that helps you gain awareness for your life purpose projects but most importantly, you can get daily and weekly Ws around your ideas by posting them in short-form and long-form content pieces. 

I started posting daily reels and youtube shorts for Legend of the Abyss, it's been a very valuable process so far. Day 11 today baby!
