Monthly Salary in Major Cities 2026

6 posts in this topic

@PsychedelicEagle they say average salary in Amsterdam is 4.6k honestly barely anyone here makes over 3k working a job, maybe we have some very high paying jobs that make the average allot higher, but I would say on average people make between 2k to 3k not to forget most people work only 3 to 4 days a week here, so it probably is even less then what I mentioned.

@Olaf yes, the median will be different from the mean, making typical salaries look smaller. A small number of high-paying jobs pushes the average upward. I do believe the numbers are accurate on the chart, tho.

What types of jobs do you refer to in "working a job"?

Guess I’m not as far behind as I thought.

@PsychedelicEagle Like most people I know here, I don't ask people for their income, but at times they tell me or it comes up somehow.

Interesting that Europe has higher average salary than the US.

And this is so out of balance with costs as take home pay.  You really need double whatever these numbers are to live comfortably, save, and take vacations based on cost of living.
