Looking for a Life Purpose Accountability Partner

10 posts in this topic

I’m looking for someone who is seriously pursuing their life purpose course and wants an accountability partner for the long game.

I believe meaningful work takes time. It requires patience, consistency, focus, and the willingness to keep going even when progress feels slow.

I’d love to connect with someone where we can:

- Share our goals and direction

- Regularly or weekly share progress and setbacks

- Keep each other accountable

- Track what we’re actually doing, not just what we plan to do

- Encourage each other when motivation drops

- Stay focused on the bigger picture

- Learn from each other’s journey

You don’t have to have everything figured out. I’m not looking for someone perfect or someone who has already “made it.”

I’m looking for someone who is serious about building a meaningful life and willing to play the long game.

Having someone walking a similar path, checking in regularly, and genuinely caring about each other’s progress could make a huge difference.

If this resonates with you, DM me. Tell me a little about what you’re pursuing and what accountability would look like for you.

Maybe we can help each other stay on track for the next few years—not just the next few weeks.

It seems like you're describing higher sociability or a partner. The problem with an accountability partner is that you're now holding someone else accountable for your accountability, which is basically just compounding the problem of personal accountability by two.

Maybe try talking to people you already think have accountability.

I find absorbing is easier than creating for something like this. Sometimes hanging out with someone and recognizing something they do better than me is a motivating example to do it myself.

We have to be acclimated to situations of accountability or create them straight-up.

I think If the person you're pairing up with is serious, it works great. Me and Deepak had a call last week and we're having another one tonight, whoever wants to join lmk!

You have a good point Yeti, I already track my habits daily so having someone to talk to weekly about my progress just makes the process of self-accountability less lonely for me.

@yetineti  I think there are a couple of assumptions in your response.

“It seems like you're describing higher sociability or a partner” — it seems is already an interpretation of what I’m asking for rather than what I actually said. And “I find absorbing is easier than creating” tells me what works for you, but I don’t think it necessarily applies to what we’re trying to create here.

I’ve actually already started doing this with @LordFall , and we had a call last week and another one since then. I’ve found it genuinely useful—not because either of us is responsible for the other person’s accountability, but because we get an opportunity to learn from each other, be inspired by each other, challenge our perspectives, and make the journey less isolated.

I think there’s a distinction between outsourcing accountability and using relationships as an environment that supports accountability. I’m still responsible for my own commitments, while the relationship adds perspectives and feedback that I wouldn’t necessarily generate alone.

From a systems perspective, I don't think it has to be either “personal accountability” or “an accountability partner.” Both can serve different functions, and the combination can potentially be more powerful than either one alone.

So I’m not really looking for someone to make me accountable. I’m interested in creating a relationship where two people who are serious about their development can continuously learn, inspire, challenge, and support each other over the long term.

And if it doesn't work for someone, that's completely fine. I just don't think the model needs to be dismissed before considering what it can actually create.

What you said is not possible. You will never be able to hold yourself accountable through someone or hold someone else accountable.

But you can check in with people, feel less lonely, more motivated, etc.

Which is exactly what has happened, as LordFall admitted, he’s already on top of things, but you guys have checked in with each other and felt motivation—great.

It’s not an accountability partnership. It is pseudo sociability where unless there is a true friendship, romantic partnership, business partnership, etc. you guys will drift apart.

So, it sounds like that’s what you really want… high sociability… to achieve what you and LordFall have created, consistently—or an actual partner.

I think you assume I dismiss you. I have no reason. I try to help.

Unfortunately, accountability is a one man game. You’re looking for something else, whether you realize it or not, it seems.

I simply like to be precise. These phone calls sound fun and great.

I had to be careful, myself, considering what was really keeping me accountable and unfortunately, for me, I am especially sensitive to the energies of people and could often fall for that contagion, rather than actually focusing on myself.

@yetineti  yeah, I agree that ultimately I have to hold myself accountable. I can't really outsource that to someone else.

I just see the relationship as something additional. @LordFall and I are already taking responsibility for our own goals, but talking regularly has given us a chance to learn from each other, get inspired, challenge each other and make the whole thing feel less lonely.

I also think your point about being influenced by other people's energy is actually important. I guess that's why who you surround yourself with matters so much. The right people can pull you forward rather than away from your goals.

@Deepak sadhwani

It sounds like we are agreeing. My point was really a framing one anyways. If you frame LordFall as your friend, you will achieve the same results with more sustainability.

You described friendship.

Slightly disagree on that one. Most friendships are based on hanging out with no clear goal in mind.

If we compare it to game the difference between a social circle and a friend group is a social circle is built on generating value for the people involved and not simply emotional ties. I don't know Deepak that well yet but we are generating value for each other by creating an environment of mutual accountability and execution. I don't mind being friends on top but we have to have the value in mind otherwise I am wasting my time.

A lot of my friends get uncomfortable when I talk too much about business even though we are clearly not doing that well financially. They seem to have a different way of handling that fact than I do. Some of them are full on victim mode and not doing much about it so I occasionally hang out with them but we are on different life paths.
