About spiritual guidance

6 posts in this topic

Hi folks,

I've been following @Leo Gura's work on Actualized.org for a while, and it motivated me to search for the truth. Even though I'm honestly agnostic right now, I've become interested in Kriya Yoga and I've been thinking about looking for a guru to guide me on the path. A friend of mine recently recommended the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF — https://yogananda.org), and I'm considering it.

What do you think about SRF and Kriya Yoga? Is it worth pursuing? If SRF isn't a good path, would you recommend any others (it must have a temple in Brazil)?

Thank you very much!

It would be nice to have someone around to give me tips on kriya practice as there's a lot of subtlety to it. however srf is a little too religious for me. they also don't give you the actual kriya pranayama technique until you've been a member for a year (at least), by the way.

if you want a kriya guru this seems promising

if you want to learn kriya on your own leo's booklist is what you're looking for.

Thank you very much!
