@Leo Gura What are your thoughts on committing to lifelong semen retention as a deep aid towards development across all stages on the spiral? So to help grow purpose, but also to focus on spirituality later on?

I think it is mostly counter-productive. You will be in needless battle with yourself. That energy is better put towards creative work.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Leo Gura So that is exactly my focus, is to transmute all the sexual energy into depth of creativity.

You are not going to do that.

@Leo Gura So you don't believe it is possible retain for long enough to transcend lust? & then transmute all the sexual energy into higher pursuits?

@Leo Gura I thought it was quite a common practice to sacrifice a lot of sex in the pursuit of a deeper more profound life, that's the main goal.

I don’t know where people get the idea from that sexual energy is connected to creativity. I don’t feel this is the case. Creativity is a much lighter and more subtle energy in comparison to sexual energy for me.

I don’t think in terms of chakras much nowadays, but if I did, I’d say creativity is connected moreso to the 5th or 6th one and not the 2nd. Idk, just my hunch.

I mean go on and try it then.

But don't feel bad to cringe out on yourself if it ends soon and hopelessly :D

*But in general yes, limiting sex is going to increase creativity. Especially the creativity needed to have MORE SEX!!

Theory of chakras says that energy goes up the spine from bottom to top, and it's not recommended to waste it on the lower levels tendencies, because the higher functions/energies emerge from the "denser" ones. Like the mental relies on the physical

The problem is that you are most likely not going to transcend it, but instead repress it, which will bubble up and manifest in perverted ways in your psyche. Lifelong brahmacharya is basically impossible(Especially if youre under 40) and probably not healthy for prostate. Instead study tantric yoga and tantric orgasms. You can bust a couple times a month and be fine.

^^^ This is also a good youtube channel for your purposes

I’m just saying that the idea of transmuting sexual energy to specifically creative endeavours doesn’t make sense to me. It’s not my experience. It’s like trying to transmute ice cream into paper.

Unless your creative endeavours relate to sexuality somehow.

I know, I can't do it on my will either. I think it should be redirected/transmuted on a more subtle, less will-driven level, like with digestion. You can't control the process, but you can help it by eating right and not vomiting, and so on. And you can't always feel this transmutation process happening in real time either

@Phil King I definitely agree that there would be a danger of suppressing it, but I don't think no ejaculation guarantees suppression if you are expending to the best of your ability the life force that sexual energy provides, into work, exercise, contemplation etc. - and of course fully feeling it in your body when it arises.

I keep a personal tracker inside my calendar each day where I track the day I am on. There are profound benefits after day 7 of Brahmacharya. I have huge lists of benefits. For me not releasing is beneficial. I get POIS which sucks.

@stephenkettley 32 days i did it last month! Haha it was brutal. I have a very high sex drive. The secret to going longer is to avoid having an erection during the day and spend more time doing hard work.  It is impossible  after day 14 I become super sensitive!

Cycles are better than full abstinence. You will eventually release. It's impermanent. Convert rsther than suppress. I sometimes will just edge for 30 days straight to further increase Ojas energy. I love it. I think about Brahmacharya everyday.
