I tend to think the latter, actually. I am prepared to be the fool...

He was a Mormon and discarded that for blueprint. Fickle. Possibly falling hard for Kate Tolo has changed his austere views. There is only so much energy one can have for the neurosis he employs attending to his rigid life. Their relationship has some tells of codepandence.

The other thought I have? Blueprint and the experiment was the narrative / beginning of the grift. The slow boil to be discarded for Immortals Care - the real cash cow. He very deliberately targeted an audience of neurotic, overanalysing, black and white thinking min/maxers. People who want shortcuts. People who would rather swallow 4/5 supplements than actually nail down sleep, hydration, nutrition, exercise and solid routine (lets be honest now, all the crazy blueprint shit he does moves the needle less than a millimetre, whereas these fundamentals substantially shift our quality of life). People who love hype, fantasy thinking - people who jumped on the AI hype train with him. People who are deathly afraid of aging, afraid of pain, afraid of their appearance falling apart. And above all - fear of death. The ultimate fear. Fear fear fear.

He basically targeted fear and sold to it.
