Best way to clear energetic blockages and should psychedelics be avoided?

I’ve been drawn to intense breathwork, pranayama, and Kriya Yoga, plus exercise as grounding practices. While I’ve tried psychedelics before, I’m now quite wary. We’ve seen cases like the recent fitness influencer where things went wrong (and thats only because he was internet famous). Plenty of people this happens to that we’ll never hear about.

Even without psychedelics, deep spiritual work has turned my life upside down in my late 20s/early 30s. I wasn’t psychotic, but I struggled with grounding and bridging those insights into everyday material reality. I now see why traditions emphasize finding a good teacher — it’s easy to get lost going solo, even if some dogma exists.

For these reasons, I’m leaning toward a gradual path right now to keep spiritual growth and ordinary life aligned. It’s not a race, and sometimes going faster ends up being slower long-term.

Curious about others’ experiences with clearing energetic blockages safely. What practices have helped you integrate without losing your footing? Thoughts on psychedelics vs. slower approaches?

Cold shower. Go into cold shower without thinking, try not to make a sound if you have to say praise God. Any part of your body that is trying to get out of the water force it into the water immediately and keep doing it. Make the voices that want to run submit to you.
