Very cool. I'm super excited for what generative AI has to bring to the movies and overall entertainment space. Big budgets and gloat have killed originality in Hollywood, it's time to bring it back!

Man, respectfully, I hate AI films

AI always has this tendency to center its subject in a manner in a way that's always kind of dramatic and emphasized, like close up staring into the camera with a blurry background. It can't or won't make shots where the characters are more de-emphazised. It lacks subtlety and feels stilted.

You can tell it's stitched together from various clips that have been generated. It must've taken ages to get it all right so that it looks like a succinct movie, and not an AI fever dream. Typically characters look different between each clip, but that's clearly been improved upon.

I kinda of doubt the capacity for AI to make good art, not just from a technical perspective, but also because AI bros tend to be such hacks. They don't understand art on a fundamental level. They always make the most generic shit based on other people's ideas. Not in the sense of AI using tons of human work (which is itself a problem), but that they are uncreative. Shit like "Dragon Ball Z but real life". "Super Mario if it was Star Wars". "Spiderman VS Deku", etc. Slop all the way down.

@Basman You actually cant make stuff up without other peoples ideas.

Any new things that come into existence are revelations of God. The original is being given to the man and the drive to do it by God. So you cant make up your own ideas and you cant come up with new ones, the new ones are given to you.

It's a false equivalency. You can only truly believe this if you never created anything good and original. AI bros understanding of creativity is a caricature. For one, they think prompting an AI to generate things for you makes you artist when it's more like ordering food at a restaurant.

An AI bro can churn out Star Wars Tiktok slop but they could never actually conceive of Star Wars. It takes actual ingenuity and work to create something worth investing time in. AI bros don't even understand how intuition plays into art. Art is just an idea to them.

@Basman I agree with the second part, but I have been drawing for my entire life and my art style I know myself is just copied by 100 different artstyles. Its the reason we cant think of a new colour. Because we have never perceived it. God is the originator and he gives us all of our ideas. There is no idea except that which is given to you and you copy it.

I have never perceived a pink elephant but I have perceived pink and an elephant I can use those copies to make a pink elephant. Artstyles are ingrained and learned exactly like an AI.

Humans are like AI and God is the information that is being fed into the AI. We can take the information and use and change it but we cant generate our own.

If information suddenly was stopped being fed into your system you have nothing and you would start messing with your data and distorting it like an AI does with inbreeding.

AI is incapable of creativity. Otherwise it wouldn't need a bunch of data to train off.

Humans are derivative too, but it's more like inspiration and love. You can create something original if you wanted to. It's just hard. Modernism for example is a reactionary spin off classic art, but it took an original spark to visualize what that would look like. AI could never create a Van Gogh painting. There's depth and deliberateness to the creativity of Van Gogh's paintings down to the particular strokes and blend of colors.

Intuition plays a large role in art. The absence of acknowledgement of how intuition plays into art is part of what tells me that they don't understand it.

+ the fact that inbreeding kills AI is very telling. Inbreeding is only a problem if you are unintelligent and uncreative.
