Aha, I'm sorry, I just didn't understand ur reasoning. You seemed to imply that the fact that he was holding retreats somehow meant that the message was confusing. (That would imply that every spiritual teacher who holds retreats is somehow sharing a confusing message) Retreats are simply an opportunity to go into things in more depth. And to get a real feel for the energy of the teacher in person.

I mentioned the retreats and price ($1500) because you said you don't think he does this for money because he only charges $10 for zoom conferences.

I think I misunderstood you, I thought you meant he's just in it for the business.

But sure, I don't have a problem with spiritual teachers charging money for retreats etc.

Youtube is free. Retreats they make a living from. Sounds fair to me.

Yeah, when I listen to him, I would almost compare it to a type of psychedelic, it's like I can feel an unravelling happening in the background, without any effort on my part.

I think its rare someone watching has that experience actually

I remember seeing that guy on YouTube years back, funny watching someone describe the community from the outside in humorous way

Okay, but the "look at your hand" exercise of Leo, is also pointing to what Jim is saying about: It's already here now

Its trying

I had never heard of Jim until after seeing through the self illusion.

Interestingly it was one or two of Leo's self inquiry/introspection videos and then a couple lines from an Adyashanti video that seemed very meaningful at the time!

But these catalysts have to be taken with a grain of salt because there was already an openness and a feeling like there was something right under my nose that was always there, but being overlooked.

Like an examination outside of a personal perspective. An empty and innocent introspection.

Yeah, somehow I don't think that when I was still a complete newbie, that Jim's message would work on me then.

But maybe there are newbies that get it quickly.

This is 2026, not 1926 India, God bless Papaji and Ramana, I love them, but good luck sitting with a begging bowl on the street today. Money is neither good nor bad. It's high time spiritual people grow the fuck up, myself included, I really want to teach this type of invaluable stuff to people, and I honestly don't see why I should be poor for doing so. This doesn't mean that I need to be greedy either. I think you can offer freebies and charge good money simultaneously. Thus you can serve the poor and the rich.

(I think I read somewhere that in the old testament it said that if a wife cheated on her husband, she should be stoned to death. What if this whole hangup that many spiritual people have around receiving decent money for invaluable services, is just as rediculous and outdated. Why the fuck should doctors and lawyers live well, but spiritual masters who provide something beyond value itself,  should grow their own vegetables, get fucked spiritual ego)

Not sure what you mean, it seems you're implying spiritual teachers are somehow wrong for charging money.

Do you think a Rupert Spira retreat is for free ?
