Probably the closest things we have to UFOs so far (mentioning it to satisfy your wookiesm lol), it's definitely a nice little add-on but hovering like that in the air is the most vulnerable a jet can be, besides staying put on the air ports/aircraft carriers. Also spends an unholy amount of fuel - but the fact that it can both lift off and land on an previously unsuitable terrains - and can go from the hovering-in-the-air phase straight to speeding up to supersonic speeds the way regular jets do, allow for a lot of flexibility in it's deployment
