The left is uncomfortable with the past and the future.

When Ezra Klein recently interviewed Helen Lewis, they discussed reasons the left is losing. An interesting point was brought up about the aesthetic of the political parties. While the left is uncomfortable with the future and the past, MAGA on the other hand is embracing both and ruling in the present. 

The left projects this demotivating narrative that the past was racist, sexist, and colonial while the future is polluted/warming, controlled by evil AI, and jobless. 

On the other hand MAGA romanticizes the past and embraces new technology (AI, Crypto, social media). 

I never heard this critique of the left before and it might actually have some merit. Could be a reason MAGA appeals to about half the voters.

My impression is that many leftists are just a bit too ideological and groupthinky to have serious opinions on how to run a country. Complaining about bigotry and capitalism all day on Twitter isn't political, it's just a vibe. There's no strategy beyond expressing virtue. In order to be politically constructive, you can't be overly idealistic. A political leader needs to be fine with making decisions that will kill people.

Leftists are interesting in puncturing much of the self-deception around these things. While MAGA wants to preserve it.

This was the feminist who did one of the viral Jordan Peterson interviews back when he was on top of his game, and later got cancelled by the left for criticizing trans rights activists. Seems she learned nothing.

Can you clarify what she was supposed to learn? I'm not sure I follow.

In just the parts I watched, she claims they moved away from facts because the facts were on her side, when she interviewed JBP he disputed her with multiple facts she had no response to, if anything this shows her side refused to engage with facts which shifted the opposition away from them.

She also largely dismisses the pushback against the culture and movements she promotes, meanwhile she experienced just 10% of the attacks from her side for a couple months that men have been getting for decades, and she melted down and talked about how frustrating it was.
