Making Progress - What You Do x What You Don't Do

Posted (edited)

We have a tendency to measure our progress related to what we do, how productive we are, habits, practices, books. Do you see?

We have an approach to focus on WHAT WE DO.

I want you to focus on WHAT YOU DON'T DO but it is beneficial to your life.

Make a list of things you don't do daily that increase your quality of life.

  • I don't drink alcohol.
  • I don't smoke crack.
  • I don't kill people.
  • I don't watch TV.
  • I don't think about suicide.

There are so many EMPOWERING things YOU DON'T DO because of your Level of Consciousness & Cognitive Development.

I don't watch porn

I don't doom scroll

I don't use my phone before going to bed

I don't drink alcohol

I don't smoke weed

I don't belittle myself

One of the illusions is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour. Write in on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. No man has learned anything rightly until he knows that every day is Doomsday.

They're small dubs, but seems more like a gratitude practice. Not the same as progressing on your goals.

  • Don’t lie
  • Don’t harm others(including emotionally) unless you’re forced to
  • Don’t tolerate disrespect
  • Don’t get caught up in all the negativity, especially cultural/political
  • Don’t try to convince people who have already decided what they believe.
  • Don’t consume toxic men’s advice
  • Don’t expect anything from women (at all). That’s probably toxic, but I’ve been disappointed too many times.
  • Don’t drink or consume drugs alone.
  • Don’t buy things you can’t afford, except housing
  • Don’t gamble
  • Don’t be too greedy, do consume some. I’m not a material person, so I don’t buy something unless I need it.
  • Don’t live in fear
  • Don’t stay in a bad situation for too long
