Psychosis is when everything becomes true.

Psychosis is total lack of epistemic responsibility. You're just describing the power of the mind to deceive itself.

I don't think you can care about epistemic responsibility if your cognition is impaired.

I don't know. But a lot of normal, stable people could have a psychotic break under the right circumstances.

That has not been my experience with psychosis. It is emotional logic and self deception dialed up to the max. It is quintessential alignment with falsehood.

Perhaps external factors?

How would epistemic responsibility be related to stable people having a psychosis?

Yes external factors mostly. A silly example would be that you don't care about sleep and it leads to a psychotic meltdown, let's say you take psychedelics carrying poor sleep for months and your system can't handle it.

Or think how soldiers get PTSD. Is not just a bomb that exploded, but the combination of lack of sleep, cold, hunger, constant noise. So a mental breakdown is right around the corner. Well, if you were epistemic responsible you'd realize the true dangers of war and perhaps consider your participation in it.

But you're right that if you were having a mental breakdown you won't even register the words epistemic responsibility at that moment. But maybe your overall lack of it is linked.
