Are the people really so blinded by their hunger for bloodshed that they don't understand that all these massacres will actually weaken Isreal the most in the long run?

Any sort of violence, let alone this kind, must be the dumbest move possible for a country in Israel's position 😑

OK a question: are people migrating out of the country right now?

@Butters The considerations for going to war with Iran are complex and include weakening the regime by targeting members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in order to help the revolution there succeed, damaging the regime’s nuclear program and reducing its military capabilities including its ability to fund terrorist organizations that operate as its proxies.

During the last two years there was a negative migration balance in Israel when more people left the country than entered, which is relatively unusual compared to most previous years.

Yes but this is all fantasies. Just ask America how interventions have worked out for them.

Introducing the leaders of Israeli political parties.

Today: Yair Golan, leader of the "Democrats" party on the center-left and former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the IDF.

His post, translated:

I’m now leaving Kabri after a full day in the north — the Jezreel Valley, Nahariya, Mateh Asher, Mazra’a, and Evron. Everywhere I went, the same question came up: When will this end?

For two and a half years now, this government has known how to start wars, but not how to end any of them.

Israel is currently operating on four active fronts: Iran, Lebanon, Gaza, and Judea and Samaria. Life across the country is being lived from one siren to the next. Instead of studying in classrooms, children are growing up between Zoom and bomb shelters.

The IDF has achieved extraordinary military accomplishments, at the cost of the blood of our soldiers and civilians. But without a concluding political move, those achievements will be thrown away.
Just a few months ago we heard festive declarations about a “total victory” and a “victory for generations.”

But the truth is simple: the government and its leader do not know how to translate military achievements into a strategic move that creates long-term security. Every military operation must have a concluding political component. Without it, we are dragged into endless cycles.

We are in an election year. These elections are about the future of Israeli democracy — and about security.
The Democrats know how to protect both: democracy, and the security of you and your children. "
