Here & Now

Proposition: what is deemed ‘here and now’  IS something-but a something that is open to interpretation.

Interpreting such as ‘No-thing’ is a common assertion in Non Dualism & Enlightenment circles. Yet ‘No-Thing’ is one out of an infinite number of interpretations of the something that in inherent to the present.

It seems impossible to get away from reality being something as opposed to nothing. Our interpretations of it are subjective- but the something-ness inherent to reality seems Absolute in nature .

We can work to understand the something-ness that seems inherent to reality, while at the same time finding useful ways to leverage subjective interpretations to understand it at deeper levels.

My question: in your spiritual pursuits, how are you interpreting the here and now? How is it serving you? What are your obstacles in going beyond your interpretations to understand reality at higher levels?

"Nothing" is not the absence of something . Conventionally when we say you have 1000 bucks in your bank account then that's something. If you have zero dollars in your bank account then you have nothing . The simplest way to put a label on objects. An object is a something. Lack of objects is nothing . But the word nothing in spirituality (like Sunyata in Buddhism) is meant to describe no ultimate substance to reality . You could zoom into reality forever and you won't find anything ..you will just find more and more infinity .also things are always changing. Nothing stands still even for a microsecond .constant flux.  There are different ways of looking at it .

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

-that’s a me .

The here and now is all there is.

The ideas of future and past are constructs sitting in the here and now. Nothing from the future can hurt you now, and equally the past: they don't exist in the same way as the here and now. But it is paradoxical, because your constructions of the past and future do affect the here and now; they are the here and now, or at least part of it. However, as constructs, the past and future are malleable, so they don't have to keep affecting you in the same way in the here and now.

Everything is interpretation at some level, because nearly everything is a construct at some level. This goes from conscious abstractions like the figure in my bank account, to unconscious constructions like the sofa I'm sitting on. My sofa is in fact just the interplay of touch, sight, sound and probably smell. The base of reality could then be pure sensations without interpretation, but I can't see myself getting to point of no interpretation, even though those absolute sensations are as plain as day. It's like the constructs have as much reality as the pure sensations.

The question then is, am I a construct? And if so, how can a construct such as me reach a state of seeing reality without interpretation (i.e. constructions)?

The future can be real. The future can be again.

Absolute nothingness is the absence of form. The absence of form is the absence of change. Change is the necessary contrast for form to manifest.

There is always change since the absence of change is "never," or absolute nothingness.

Absolute nothingness is essentially the same as form; it is limitlessness manifesting as change.

The fact of manifestation is inevitable, not essential. What is essential is the total absence of limits.

An object is something in that it exists, nothing in that it's not distinct from what is deemed 'non object'.

That something is Nothing :D
