I am the main character

15 posts in this topic

Repeat this thought to yourself. Whenever you find your mind drifting to wanting something outside yourself say , I am the main character of this story everyone else is a side character. The main character dosent need anything the story dosent give them. This will help you focus your mind on yourself.

Does the Truth need reinforcing beliefs? Know Thyself :)

I am but a reflection... a mirror... of you... of me... in a cosmic dance ~ of a unified mystery...

I think it can be a helpful believe to integrate in one's system.

I think the opposite is the case . Instead of getting so absorbed in yourself and too egocentric believing the universe is revolving around you and taking everything personally..I say instead of doing that try to realize how you don't matter to the universe that much . I'm not saying which one is true but I'm saying which is more helpful in bypassing suffering which you can't control .

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."

It's how you use it. You can make life harder,  or just practical application. You can kill with a knife or cut your apple.

Ken Wilber had a similar argument: Focus on the now and on the direct field of awareness. Everything you need is always there in this field right here right now.

In case we want to avoid feeling like shit when the universe isn't turning the way we want it to...do you think it's more helpful to believe we are the hero of this movie called life or that we are just feathers in the wind..or as Leo once have said so eloquently " we are God's bitch "?

Main character of course :)

But the main character is aware, that in this story, he's just a tiny little thing compared to the infinity of the world. He's a humble main character that knows his limitations and the power of the world.

Ever played Skyrim?

Have fun being God's bitch.

It's the human condition to believe in stories and characters. If believing you're the main character motivates goodness in life, then why not? But once you've exhausted it, believing you're a character in a story is limiting and also on some level untrue.

I played Skyrim twice, it was that good.

Now this game is far better than Skyrim...

Ah yes. Life could also be a game and you could be the main character in it. What a blast. But of course life isn't really a game either.

Life isn't anything in particular. You exist, and you must do lots of things to carry on existing. That's it. But we're all free to see it as we want to see it, if it makes existing more pleasant.

Ok. Sounds about right.

Wanna play co-op later on steam?

New patch for game "You exist, carry on, that's about it" is online. Looking for some new friends to play with have been playing it alone for an eternity
