Is Fyodor Dostoyevsky worth reading?

Many people recommend Dostoyevsky's books and claim he's one of the best authors ever. Brothes Karamazov is supposed his best book.  Jordan Peterson is one of those people.

I'm trying to read Brother Karamazov and have read Crime and Punishment but it just seems like Christian propaganda. Here's a quote by Dostoyevsky: "If anyone could prove to me that Christ is outside the truth, and if the truth really did exclude Christ, I should prefer to stay with Christ and not the truth,"

What gives? Why is this guy so popular? What fiction is worth reading?

I’ve read White Nights and Notes from Underground. I also bought Brothers Karamazov and I tried to read it but it is just so dense it seems pointless. I do recommend Notes from Underground, it is easy to digest and resonated with me a lot. I listened to Jordan Peterson’s commentary on it and I wasn’t disappointed.

Once you do enough consciousness work all the themese of human literature becomes childish nonsense.

Compare lower Christianity with higher Christianity. This is a quote from one of my favourite Christian mystics, Meister Eckhart:

Quote

Truth is something so noble that if God could turn aside from it, I could keep the truth and let God go

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God
