How to go about self actualization ?

7 posts in this topic

Hey there, i was thinking about how to go about self actualization and the problem that i face is that whenever i try to self actualize, like to meditate, read, contemplate, exercise. I always run into the same problem, which is that life starts to feel like a grind all the time. Since i study, and work as well, doing self actualization makes life too much of a hustle, and doesn't leave any room for just chilling and watching some youtube, or listening to music, or watching a series. Life becomes too much of a grind where on a daily basis, all that you're doing is performing, whether it's studying, or working, or doing self actualization. I need in my life plenty of room to relax and chill. And by that i don't mean to meditate or contemplate, since those are in my experience a hustle and work, not a relaxation or chill time. The solution would be to build my life gradually where i focus first on making money, and being financially successful, turning my passion and creative work (rap music) into my career, and then i would have plenty of time to do self actualization. But that will require years since first i am planning on finishing this year at the institute where i study physical education, then enroll in a translation and interpreting degree, to then after i complete it being able to finance my creative work (rap career). And then once my rap career is successful, i can then do self actualization work, because i will have more free time and energy. What do yall think ?

Focus on #1 specific goal that will solve 90% of your problems.

Probably, the answer is money.

Have to serve others first. Provide more value and one day, you realize you are self actualized.

While being "busy" with life stuff, work, home, study, etc, Self Actualize by doing this...

1) Live Now Absolutely, be present in the moment, don't let memory or imagination rule You...this can be done always..

2) Accept all this is as it Is- Acceptance doesn't mean liking/disliking what is, just Accept it, this will stop all Stress from arising..

3) Respond to Life situations, don't react.. Responding is a Conscious Action, being Conscious is Self Actualizing, reacting is Unconscious action, opposite of Self Actualization.

4) Breath deeply and slowly at all times, this will relax Your system tremendously, via relaxation then Your calmness will take over, Peacefulness will become more naturally for You, this will give you more clarity of what is what, and via that You make better/wiser decisions!

All of the above can be done all the time, and leads to Self Actualization via Your internal Experience is now naturally Peaceful and at Ease!

Karma Means "Life is my Making", I am 100% responsible for my Inner Experience. -Sadhguru..."I don''t want Your Dreams to come True, I want something to come true for You beyond anything You could dream of!!" - Sadhguru

I'm on a similar situation. The plan is to become extremely creative to find solutions for different kinds of problems.

I was reading Rick Rubin's book. Definitely worth reading. You are into music, you'll like it.

If you don't find balance now, you will have far more difficulty when you're so successful and have contracts, fans, and media breathing down your neck. I've gone through the workaholic, "I'll actualize when I have the money, I'll hangout with friends when I have the money", etc., etc. If you really want to make that sacrifice, then that's your choice. The fact is that success takes sacrifice no matter what, but recognize that it is sacrifice. Understand that you won't realize the profundity of those sacrifices until it hits you like a brick and you're frozen with grief at how for granted you took what you've lost.

You have to make the decision now what you're willing to sacrifice knowing you won't understand the gravity of it until much later. Even you reading this now will not prepare you for that moment. Maybe it'll all be worth it, but it will still be a sacrifice.

My own path has led me to seek balance now rather than later. I'm not trying to sprint to success, but become the person I want to be in the process of seeking success. I've also reconstructed what success means beyond achievement, money, or recognition. I would of course be lying if I said these things didn't still matter, but they're far less potent than they use to be and other values have come to take priority.
