Open debate always fosters deeper thinking into topics. That's an objectively positive thing. Period.

I addressed that already.

Open debate with the intention of winning hearts and minds for Trump and everything that goes with that.

I already addressed that. Stop running circles. You can't participate in a debate unless you have an opinion to defend. That's how debates work. Let the strongest argument win. They deserve it and it's good.

I'm not doubting the merits of debating.

Charlie didn't invent debating.

He helped to get Trump elected.

Objectively it's hard to view that as a positive.

As long as the strongest/most reasonable argument wins, every outcome is positive.

Can't disagree with that one.

"encouraged an open debate", which is code for: "lets see if we can turn college kids into Trump supporters."

He got assassinated, was he truly willing to die, who knows.

Exactly, he was trying to convert college students to his Christian cult and supporting Trump.

And leftists are using debate to win people on their side, so what is your point. He's got a few very stupid ideas like that thing with abortion that's been mentioned, but mostly he just had a values different from people like you. And he got fucking shot for it by some degenerate

Even he is well known in India, I came to know him from a conservative friend of mine, first video I saw of him made me realise he was a crooked  conservative, thats the vibe he got. (Like someone here said vibration) what happened to kirk is sad and I don't want someone to have fate like that. But his open debates where plain stupid, when he didnt had answers he juggled around. When I juggle around, I know for sure I maybe wrong or not that convincing. So I can learn, that has something to do with open-mindedness. never saw that in him.

You quoting me out of context.  (We were debating the need to elevate him to some kind of hero status.)

No one implied that being shot for having different values was acceptable in any way.

I imagine you are perfect.

That's not the point. If we're going to elevate someone to hero status, we need slightly higher standards.

Sure, I was never advocating for that point either. There are no heroes in this day and age, only usefull fools, at least in my opinion. But the thing is - he was also not someone who had to be necessarilly hated either

If one has a lot of unempathetic views (like trying to justify Gaza massacre for example), one is bound to attract some negative energy.

I am 100% sure that same logic wouldn't be applied to other situations and worldviews you believe in. But whatever

Maybe you misunderstood. No one is saying he deserved to be killed.

But I don't see him as someone who stood for the greater good.

I understand that you do not think he deserved to get unalived, however you are insinuating that he essentially deserved to get hated on. Which, with a fairly high probability can then lead to unaliving attempts. As we had the chance to witness multiple times already, and not just in the US.

I'm finding it very difficult to take anyone's concepts of a greater good seriously anymore. And I'll just leave it at that. Don't wanna spread my cynicism too much

I didn't say he deserved to be hated on. I just expressed a cause and effect. For example: if I express some racist views on this forum, I'm probably gonna get some people sending me not so nice vibes. It's just obvious.
