I only have experience with red hat and debian from years ago, when I was more into enthusiast stuff, dual booting etc.

I stopped tinkering with it all because I just couldn't run my work software for drawing and estimating on linux based platforms. And I have my home PC I built operating as a work machine as well as gaming.

Windows 11 is poo though I agree @Leo Gura. Like the fucken winME/Vista skull fuck they gave us....

Not sure if many users here ever had a chance to sample WinME/Vista/8 degustation menu of indigestion, frustration and revulsion 🤣🤮

I used to love troubleshooting and learning with software/hardware combos, but these days I need a tool to help me accomplish shit over breaking shit just to see how it works 😁

That's fair.

I've used W8 and Vista, I think. Don't have much to say, honestly, other than Windows 8's Start menu felt clunky.

Linux can be more reliable and stable than Windows, depending on the use case and provided it fulfills your needs. Mint is a good example of this, and it's based on Debian which has a fairly conservative philosophy behind its design. Apparently it may not be the best for tinkering. Arch and Fedora are generally considered better for bleeding-edge stuff. But yeah.

Windows has so much powerful software that you can't find anywhere else. Not consumer software but powerful tool software for getting complex stuff done.

Win10, highly customized, works very well. No need to upgrade.

Are you going to take the time to share your customization? I may get a second hard drive just to have windows as a back up for punctual use cases, like doing online government paperwork 🤦
