Absolute solipsism vs relative solipsism

4 posts in this topic

I have been sitting contemplating this for a long time. I understand that everything occurs inside my mind, and there is nothing outside of my mind (that I can experience).

This can be a liberating experience, and I can see why it can be considered as an "awakening".

However, I still question this idea of absolute solipsism. Because I am so affected by what seems to be "outside" forces, and how come this is the case? If absolute solipsism were the case, then wouldn't I have omnipotence, hence the ability to have complete control over consciousness?

I was in a meeting last night, with a group of around 20 people. I was quietly focusing on solipsism and telling myself that all these people were in my mind. If they were, then I would be able to stay completely calm, and not be affected by any of them. But I WAS affected. The dude sitting to my left was clearly very tense, and there was a lot of aggressive energy coming from him, although he didn't seem to realise. As hard as I tried, I couldn't avoid being affected.

How can one seemingly be affected by others if absolute solipsism is true?

Good question. Absolute solipsism isn't connected to the ego.
Simply put, if you want to become like God, let Him in.
But that's a joke. Although...
If you have this obsession idea-fix, it's bad...relax and enjoy^_^

Go deeper and this would be absolutely unnecessary. It would be abundantly clear that there is only YOUR mind and every “other” is a facet of consciousness.

@TruthFreedom don't believe what is not logic. If only what you are conscious of now exists, where is the consciousness of being God creating this experience? Hidden? If something is hidden, many things can also be hidden, perhaps infinite things.
