@Leo Gura  yeah she's a sharp one isn't she? 🤦

Australia is fucked for pesticides in EVERYTHING.

I think the article linked was from just released re-testing of the main powders.

Sadhguru right, it's all just bad dirt :P

Why not just eat beef/eggs/fish/chicken.

Much more bioavailable, and free from the heavy metals (excluding fish, unless it’s sardines or wild caught).

I use the “AlpenPower Whey Isolate”, made from grass-fed cow from the Austrian Alps :)

They even do testing for heavy metals and their product is pretty clean. A bit more expensive but a good investment for building muscle (edit: not affiliated, and I think they only ship to EU)

I just do fish and eggs and don't fuck with fake shit. Sadhguru would be proud of my clean(er) dirt

I've personally quit protein long ago, just eat high protein foods, even if you're bodybuilding, 2g protein per lb of bodyweight is excessive.

Not to mention they have increased the prices so much on these proteins that a good iso is 100bucks for 2kg. Not worth it.

I'm seriously concerned that this level of contamination will creep into every food, and I'm not ready for it.

It's probably already happening... I share that trepidation.

Most of the vegan proteins in the consumer reports testing were highest in lead, I noticed.

I don't use protein powders anymore but this one never gave me any issues https://hempfoods.com.au/collections/hemp-protein

Just add bananas, dates, honey whatever for flavouring. I don't care too much about texture/taste, health always comes first for me.

But from what i remember, it blended quite well with my smoothies and provided a lotta good nutrients. These days i simply just put a few tbsp of hemp seeds / chia seeds maybe some sprouted almond butter with my smoothie instead. Gradually have been returning to more simplicity and whole foods and less powders and supplements and things seem to flow better, less risky too.

I always try to source (certified organic) whatever I am putting in and on my body, its more expensive, sometimes 3 - 4 times more... which is annoying, but i see it as an investment to a quality and more abundant life. Although if you do a bit of digging on the internet, you may get lucky.

I make friends with local farmers markets and owners of fruit shops and always get good discounts and deals, especially when I buy bulk produce. Instead of buying a $4 mango at woolies or coles, which has probably been in storage for months, I get a whole box for roughly $20 - $25 that's only fresher and only $1.5 - $2 a mango :)

As with fruits and vegetables I can't always source 100% organic but I generally follow the clean fifteen and dirty dozen. And things with thick skins like avocado, melons, pineapple, bananas, mangoes, ect... i don't sweat it too much if i cant find organic, but anything like berries, grapes, leafy greens ect... absorb a ton of pesticides and always seek to get organic. I have memorized what I need to get organic and what not but yeah... Its unfortunate.

I am but a reflection... a mirror... of you... of me... in a cosmic dance ~ of a unified mystery...
