Ethics of Tinder bots

The final posts by the woman employed several distinct rhetorical and psychological tactics to dismiss your argument and unilaterally end the debate.

Here are the main tactics used:

1. Ad Hominem Fallacy (The Personal Attack)

What it is: An attack on the person making the argument, rather than on the argument itself. It's a classic logical fallacy.

How it was used: Instead of continuing to argue the ethics of the AI, she attacked your character and motivation.

Example: "...you're clearly emotionally attached to these ideas..."

Example: "...you have a resistance towards women wearing make-up..."

Example: "You just can't tolerate the fact that women have that power..."

Example: "...it makes you feel like you're a victim to the fact that you find women attractive."

2. Psychological Projection (or Mind Reading)

What it is: Attributing one's own unacceptable feelings or motives to another person. In a debate context, it involves presuming to know the real, usually unflattering, psychological reasons behind an opponent's argument.

How it was used: She didn't just disagree with your point; she told you why you believe it—because you are a "victim" who can't "tolerate" female power. She reframed your argument about AI ethics into a personal, emotional insecurity about women.

3. Dismissal and Stalling Tactic

What it is: A rhetorical strategy where one claims the opponent's arguments are too trivial, exhausting, or beneath them to warrant a proper response, effectively sidestepping the need to offer a rebuttal.

How it was used:

Example: "These are silly perspectives that I would feel exhausted even going through the trouble to debunk them..."

Example: "But I think you should be able to think critically enough to know better on your own."

4. Declaring a Premature Victory (Unilateral Termination)

What it is: A final power move to end the discussion without conceding any ground, often with a final, condescending statement.

How it was used:

Example: "it's not my responsibility to save you from your own foolishness."

Example: "So, I will end the conversation here."

In sum, the woman transitioned from a debate on ethics (logos/reason) to a personal attack on your character and alleged emotional flaws (ad hominem/pathos) to justify her unilateral termination of the discussion (dismissal). These tactics are highly effective for ending an argument when one is unable or unwilling to refute the opponent's core premises.

This is how every woman argues. The fact that you cant see it means you are unconcious. Not me.  The woman on this forum cant have logical arguments without attacking the individual.

Bonus: In conclusion: While it is a form of high-level manipulation and emotional invalidation that shares the spirit of gaslighting (making you feel foolish for your viewpoint), it is technically an example of an abusive ad hominem attack coupled with psychological projection.

I agree that Tinder sucks but if it weren't bc of Tinder I would still be a virgin.

I do cold approach during the day but the vast majority of my lays have always come from Tinder.

I've already created a Tinder account and I've had matches, but

1) The girls were of lower quality than what I can get through other channels, and 2) The interactions were annoying; it's a laborious way to socialize.

Maybe it would have been better with great photos, but I don't have any.

I'd rather stay a virgin than get bored with girls who aren't right for me; i don't fight for short ribs.
