A good rule of thumb: if you ask them a question or two, particular if it's aimed at the reasoning behind their statements, they get offended, defensive or confused. This is really good because you'll also get people parroting what sounds very solid. It is only solid if it is their own realisation and it is only their own realisation if they can explain why it's valid. Very difficult terrain to manoeuvre. In a realm where abstraction and paradox are commonplace, simplicity is your friend also.

Yea, solid too; that’s the difference between uncritically adopted beliefs and actual understanding. Spirituality isn’t about blind belief, fundamentalist faith, or dogma. It’s about experience(Participatory Epistemology/Gnosis) and understanding for yourself.

I think spirituality is a fear based endeavor for most people. Deep down they are searching for a way to escape their current reality and escape death in the future. If some guru tells them what they want to hear, it comforts them and gives them hope!

Here it was about finding the Truth.

I wanted to know the Truth about everything. I felt like I would be willing to die for the Truth.

I think fake spirituality is getting coddled and real spirituality is Truth seeking!

I just want to highlight that post.

Flirting with danger...

I take it you haven't seen Leo's booklist 😜

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Or the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.
