Bernie Sanders says AI bad

6 posts in this topic

I wonder if his estimates of the actual effect of AI is overblown, but his proposals for regulating AI are sound.

It's pretty clear that AI is being used to consolidate resources. Little to none of the dividends of technological advancement is being shared with the common public. For example. work hours are the same as they where almost a hundred years ago despite productivity being up over 400% since then. There's definitely room for regulation to negotiate better conditions.

I was skeptical but I think I was wrong, AI is going to completely transform the economy and lead to mass layoffs and chaos. I don’t believe in the AGI superhuman intelligence new species stuff though, as of now that’s nonsense.

The 85 year old socialist is afraid of robots, riveting news.....

The "public" keeps giving their money to billionaires by buying garbage, their choice.

Why do you think they are working on robots instead of focusing on health and well being. They want to create robots that defend them cause they are completely terrified that everyone wants to kill them. They will create robot horde to defend them. It ain't about factory workers.

Then God will send a solar flare.

All health problems should be solved by now via ai.

The same reason businesses use computers instead of stone tablets.

Each person in the United States, Europe, and Australia would need to donate approximately $235 per year to cover the estimated annual funding gap for essential healthcare services for the 4.5 billion people worldwide who currently lack full coverage.

How many of you that can, have donated $200 this year to give poor people healthcare?

Keep blaming rich people like conservaturds blame immigrants. How's the new iPhone?

He didn't say that.

He just acknowledges that the new technology may result in a job reduction, like computers did a few decades ago, and from a social point of view, the productivity going to fewer hands, may cause unemployment and poverty problems. You can tackle that problem or not, but it's still there.
