Which type of meditation to choose for newbie?

20 posts in this topic

Hey everyone, I meditate for two years already and still had no or few mystical experiences. So maybe this is a problem of type of meditation I do or in me maybe?

So here’s the question. Which type of meditation produces mystical experience or insight?

Mindfulness
Do-nothing
Concentration Meditation

First realize that no ego can have a true mystical experience - though if you visit these forums you will certainly hear people say otherwise. In addition ego will claim there is no progress no benefit and no realization taking place. In fact it will bemoan only the negatives: waste of time, of energy and of opportunity. Its very life depends on this entire approach to meditation.

In short there is only one meditation. To sit quietly and watch the ego. Don't try to change it, just watch attentively. What is seen is that it isn't you. You don't have to follow its promptings. Ego will be seen to have a specific agenda. You always have a different choice available in every situation. This is liberating to realize. And when it is implemented in life, this is called liberation.

@gettoefl Thank you! But tbh I understood almost nothing what you said. Maybe there is a very deep and profound wisdom in your words, but props I`m too juvenile to understand it.

It's a pointer that you are NOT the person looking back at you in the mirror. Meditation is to reveal what you are. It is simple but not easy.

What people don't tell you and will lie about is that there is a way to "meditate" , there isn't my friend. Meditation open up by itself when your consciousness reaches a specific level. People that usually talk about meditation are the same people that were born with specific level of consciousness so they don't know any better, and they don't know or understand the lower levels of consciousness. And a small percentage of those people like to tell everyone to just go "within" the gems are there, without explanation how to do so. See what i mean?

Just focus your intention on god/seek god/raise your own consciousness and it will open up.

As a good overall foundation, anapana meditation (focus on the breath).

You will develop the concentration needed to go deep to have insights and maybe even mystical experiences.

Then i would add pranayamas + self-inquiry, probably the best combo for mystical experiences.

Bonus point if you actually practice some hatha/vinyasa yoga. I found it beneficial for me because it works on clearing energy blockages in my body, facilitating mystical experiences.

Also, of course, psychedelics are the most powerful tool to have mystical experiences.

@Jowblob Bro, if I just will be focusing on god while I meditate, I would just start daydreaming :)

That would be all my meditation

True meditation while in the physical body is either: 1. Opening the black screen/to see how you see with your own eyes or 2. black screen is still closed/ you just enjoy unitative/energetic aspects of god/body. . This is what true meditation is, all else is just playing silly games.

Like i've said seek god/put your intention on god/prayers/reading books like : David hawkins laders of consciousness etc. will help you.

You can't just start from materialism and instantly reach meditatative/spiritual level, you have to learn about the levels above you, unless god raises you himself which is usually death/close to an end of your journey or awakening

@Recursoinominado Thanks. So it`s not possible to have mystical experiences through meditation?

It is possible, but not the easiest method. You have to be intermediate/advanced to manage that.

With pranayama or psychedelics, even a beginner can easily do it.

But i do recommend meditating anyway for building a strong foundation.

Doesn't matter and its fine, i'm giving you advice to start with the book: David Hawkins Transcending The Levels Of Consciousness

. This book is a great starter to bring materialists to spirituality, read it like 2-3x to understand. The book in itself will increase your consciousness, it's about energetic structure of consciousness/emotions etc.

All yogic exercises are good, when you do them its a form of prayer/intention to seek god.

Yes, they are quite similar to yoga but at the same time It`s quite different from yogic exercises. I mean, it`s literally rituals. And author of this book says that you do all these rituals with great caution `cuz every detail is very important to not harm yourself or your prana or whatever he means.

So I`m asking if anyone had done these rituals?

It is all BS, the ritual is the intention itself for god. Your belief might create things too, since you're infinity after all even in human body.

Man, what the f you`re talking about?) When you speak about god and infinity in such a way I don`t really grasp what you`re saying here. I`m just a regular dude who meditates, no self-inquiry or yoga in some sort. So I can`t speak with you about such things that I don`t know.
