Somatic energetic experiences

It feels quite very free. But then anxiety can come because of too much freedom almost probably as a self protection mechanism.

Well obviously it’s very hard or impossible to describe.

Everything seems immediate and kind of empty. The colours and visuals are quite crisp. It feels a bit like on low dose psychedelics maybe. And quite energetic also sometimes. Time is hard to tell. Spacious. Things like walking etc. are just kind of happening by itself. Or whatever it’s not a great attempt at explaining it.

Hmm interesting

I can correlate it a little to my own experience. In moments of it seeming like there’s less self the visuals can be extra crisp. Things seem kinda empty like they lack that solid substance….

So maybe you are onto something. But you could still investigate something the conventional route (doctor) IF it’s causing you a problem physically, just to rule it out…

If there is any anxiety present (which could  occur in spiritual happenings) it could contribute to physical symptoms. But you didn’t mention any anxiety so maybe not.

The self/mind has a kind of effect on the body. When we maintain our sense of self, it can cause stress and tension (because it relies on impermanent things). So when the self lessens it can feel like a “loosening” /release of tension in the body.

For me it has always felt good. But who knows maybe it could cause some other symptoms 🤔

I don’t really think it’s causing symptoms but maybe it’s just highlighting stuff that’s not apparent otherwise.

But i don’t know anything really honestly.

It’s just what apparently happens.

When freedom comes self protection / ego / mind works against it inevitably. Because, it all purpose is to control therefore limitation.

You mean like a temporary increase in body awareness?

Maybe less resistance and distraction than at other times. Who knows.

Maybe

Have you heard how some, even some radical non dualist, mention how enlightenment/no self comes with changes in the character . They have described feeling energetic releases. A more balanced personality, neurosis calming down. Less tension and heaviness in the body. It’s cool.

Imagine, body and mind with working it's own. There is no need to control whatsoever.

Moreover, you is vanished.

How can be more resting than this? 😊

Can't speak for others, but I can say with 100% that's my body awareness increased permanently and a lot.

The aware/ unaware experience is a spectrum and a lot of previously unconscious stuff enters my awareness.

For instance relaxing my jaw I can feel that my heel reduces tension (everything is connected in the body). Or yesterday I did thai chi and I felt super subtle muscles and bowl movements while exercising. Funny stuff

Question for people with similar experiences: the more I get aware of subtle stuff in my own body, the more aware I get of subtle stuff in external reality: feelings, words, intentions movements of others etc. Same experience for you?

It's crazy how unaware I was before,  how unaware others are if their body. Sometimes I see people clenching their teeth in every day life without noticing it, or I have a hand on their shoulder and feel the tensions there, or I hear then grinding their teeth at night and next day they don't know/ don't feel anything about it.

I bet if people could feel their body more they would change their life immediately but as long as it's not aware they just create and maintain tensions

Can you put pressure with two fingers on each rib, close to the sternum on the side of the heart. Do you feel the same inner tension/contraction when you press on any one of the ribs?

Cheddar, Mozzarella, Feta, Gouda, Camembert, Parmesan.
